What kind of work are they looking for in there?
Drinking?
Take away their unemployment checks and they'll start looking for work, instead of hanging out at the bar all day and throwing out that black guy who keeps bothering them.
Jon Boehner might know more about what's going on than we think.

(75,480 posts)they wouldn't be able to buy stuff in the bar. If it's their unemployment checks. So what? At least the bartenders and the bar owners are getting some income. As an ex-bartender, I know that. So now does Boehner understand the the job's bill President Obama wants and that he refused to pass might help?

(75,480 posts)That's what a RWinger would say. Many of them might be unmarried and don't have families. Many might be with a friend who is buying. Many might have a spouse who is working. I used to be a bartender and I never knew anyone to go drinking in a saloon while their family went hungry. You know why? Because the wife or husband would come to the bar and make them leave.

Seriously... there aren't many jobs recruited for in bars but that is probably one of them

(75,480 posts)Out of work people don't drink in the same up-scale places he does unless they are ex-Presidents or Congresspeople.

(20,776 posts)All I could think of, were those "Man walks into a bar.."Jokes. I would imagine Boehner knows many of those jokes. He's been the butt of them for a long time.

Where does the joke go from here? I'm not good at making up jokes.

(20,776 posts)there is nothing funny about being unemployed. I would imagine though, rich people probably have their jokes about the unemployed. That right there, is another difference between Republicans and Democrats.
