Trump's angle here on the Epstein case ... who was Director of the FBI in 2008?

You know, when Epstein was granted an unusual immunity deal by the Feds, which lasted for 10+ years, until just now?

Anyone remember?

And if you do ... do you remember how that same person is due to testify before Congress here shortly?

Which is all to say ... I have a feeling I know what 'angle' Trump's going to be 'working' publicly with regards to the whole thing ...

And before you say what I think you're going to say, ask yourself ... Do Facts Matter to Trump?

EDITED to add:

What I'm saying here is ... this is going to be Trump's angle:

"Finally, after many, many years, MY attorney general is going to hold Mr. Epstein accountable in a way that Bob Mueller, Eric Holder, Loretta Lynch, Barack Obama, and Jeff Sessions ... FAILED TO DO for over 8 years" ... blah blah blah.

Editing again to add:
This will be his means for, later on, if he personally starts getting held to account for involvement, he can tell his knuckle-draggers "See, like I've been saying, it's the Obama/Mueller/Holder DEEP STATE! Trying to cover their crimes, out to GET ME!!!"

Etc.

2. You don't think DoJ asks the FBI for input on something like this?

And regardless of your answer to that ... do 'facts' even matter anymore?

I'm talking about Trump here ...

7. I don't know that they would ask for input--

The FBI is an investigative agency-- the cops, not the prosecutors.

I mean, maybe-- but right now, Acosta is in the cabinet, and we KNOW he cut Epstein a deal.

9. Facts/Reality don't matter to Trump. Mueller headed the FBI in 2008 ...

I really think he's gonna try to drag Mueller into this and blame him somehow.

Hell, he'll probably even try to say Acosta worked for Obama, because ... 2008 was when Obama was elected and Acosta was a prosecutor til 2009 (I'm guessing Obama pretty quickly canned him in reality).

I mean he's a compulsive f***ing liar. He's going to try to blame Obama and Mueller and Lynch and Holder, etc ... and say 'they all did nothing for years, but now MY AG (Barr) is FINALLY doing something about this man' ... blah blah blah.

3. I'm more concerned about the clear conflict of interest with the DOJ

And I am eager to see how that plays out...

4. The FBI doesn't cut deals...

The DOJ does.

Alexander Acosta cut the deal with Epstein in 2008.

Who's Alex Acosta?

Well...

5. Here is a really good article that explains why he can be prosecuted despite his plea deal/immunity.

His non prosecution agreement only applies to crimes committed in Fl.
"Therefore, on authority of R. Alexander Acosta, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Florida, prosecution in this District for these offenses shall be deferred in favor of prosecution by the State of Florida, provided that Epstein abides by the following conditions and the requirements of this Agreement set forth below."

6. I probably should've been more clear in my OP ... but I read that article when you gave me it before

He will do everything can to bring Mueller's name into this, you watch ...

8. Trump went to Epstein parties in NYC. I thought the rape charges against trump were for rapes there.

If so, I guess the NY state AG could prosecute trump and Epstein.

10. I'm just talking about the fantasy bullshit yarn he's going to try to spin to make himself look good

And to set the stage to tell the knuckle-draggers later, when HIS involvement starts coming out ... that this is all a big "Mueller/Holder/Obama DEEP STATE plot to COVER THEIR CRIMES, trying to frame The President" blah blah blah.
