House Democratic Caucus rebukes Ocasio-Cortez's chief of staff

https://thehill.com/homenews/house/452918-house-democratic-caucus-rebukes-ocasio-cortezs-chief-of-staff

The House Democratic Caucus issued a rebuke of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s (D-N.Y.) chief of staff Friday evening amid a public spat between House leadership and a small group of progressive members. The caucus hammered Saikat Chakrabarti for comments he made going after Rep. Sharice Davids (D-Kan.), who is Native American. Chakrabarti said in the quoted tweet that Davids had taken votes that “enable a racist system.”

“Who is this guy and why is he explicitly singling out a Native American woman of color? Her name is Congresswoman Davids, not Sharice. She is a phenomenal new member who flipped a red seat blue. Keep Her Name Out Of Your Mouth,” the House Democratic Caucus tweeted Friday evening.

Her name is Congresswoman Davids, not Sharice.
She is a phenomenal new member who flipped a red seat blue.

Chakrabarti pushed back, calling Davids a friend and emphasizing that his previous tweets were aimed at calling out a "terrible border funding bill that 90+ Dems opposed," saying it "gave Trump a blank check to continue caging people in horrendous conditions."

"Our Democracy is literally falling apart. I'm not interested in substance-less Twitter spats," he added.
Everything I tweeted 2 weeks ago was to call out the terrible border funding bill that 90+ Dems opposed. It gave Trump a blank check to continue caging people in horrendous conditions. Our Democracy is literally falling apart. I'm not interested in substance-less Twitter spats.

for white liberals.

All this shit has to end, it is spinning out of control.

A senior House Democratic aide said:

“She’s only a woman of color when it’s convenient. None of the things she’s fought for aligned with communities of color and her group is funded only by elitist white liberals; she’s a puppet,” the top Democratic aide told The Hill in a phone call.

The aide then texted an image of a Goomba puppet from the Super Mario Bros. video game.

The news should be filled with clips from CSPAN wall-to-wall coverage of hearings digging out all the crimes and criminals of the TrumPutin administration, not food fights and tantrums in the Democratic party.

I mean, it's going to take a lot of time to call out every worthless moran that has a media platform.

Maybe there's a more strategic approach like, I don't know, helping Democrats regain the majority in Congress and taking back the White House.

There are only so many hours in the day. I don't think it's a good use of elected officials' time to call out every single stupid talking head.

If I had spoken about any Member that way when I was a House Chief of Staff - even if I claimed they were a friend - my boss would have fired me on the spot.

This seems to be the manner in which she operates.

I think AOC has opportunities in her future but not with the carelessness or immaturity I see today.
