The Rubicon has been been crossed

Trump's pulled out all the stops on his campaign for a Caucasian America. Are you listening corporate America? It's time to pick a side of the fence. As consumers we have the power of life and death over you. We are waiting for your response, but not for long.

Anyone that hasn't jumped ship by now is part of their team, and as such is irredeemable in my eyes.

13. Maybe, but knifelessly, and with the help of Burger King

and McDonald's, KFC and Taco Bell, and endless hours seated on his throne with his iPhone or on a comfortable chair viewing Fox and CNN. All that awful food and sedentary fuming at the TV may finally take the ultimate toll.

One can only hope!

3. The only thing they haven't done is get so caught up in a frenzy

of hate that they Wicker Man one of their own black supporters.

Seriously, I can't understand what any dark skinned person is thinking standing shoulder to shoulder with open white supremacists. Though I do have friends who are poc who do come out on Facebook repeating the conservative right mantra when it comes to racist issues.

Bizarre.

5. Yep, that goes for any corporation OR person who contributes $$$$$

to the GOPee. They are suppporting racism.

Of course, GOPee contributors have been supporting undemocratic activities for a long time. But now, it's time to call them out on it. There is no more hiding and acting like "good corporate citizens" (whatever the hell that means) while simultaneously enabling fascism.

Will be interesting to see whether any GOPee donors are called to account for this.

7. For me the Rubicon was crossed 01/20/17

trump was a racist POS from day one of his campaign. As he rode down that escalator, climbed to the top of the podium, his first campaign stance was a racist one. Have we forgotten the violence he incited at his rallies in 2016? Have we forgotten the "good people" decree? Have we forgotten that kneeling Black athletes being classified as "sons of bitches". Have we forgotten the designation of Maxine Waters as "low-IQ"? Good goodness, the Rubicon has long been crossed. trump is now, especially at his Nazi rally yesterday (7.17.19), showing us exactly what is in store this election season. In 2016 the trump faithful generally restricted their violence to rallies. Don't expect to be so lucky this time around. His goal is to intimidate. The Rubicon has long been crossed and his faithful are ready to fight. No, not at the ballot box, but rather in the streets. America is run now like the worst of the third world countries, expect our elections to be run in the same manner. I stated this long time ago on this forum, and I'll state it here in this post: trump greatest danger to the average citizen is his ability to reach all the way down to the street level and enflame his supporters into violence. Forty to 45% of the population support that asshole, and at least 30% of the population is ready to do grievous deeds in his name. The Rubicon has long been crossed.

8. I'm getting closer to wanting two countries.

I no longer live in a state that sends more money to the federal government than it receives, but I have lived in two of top ten donor states that send federal tax dollars to the red states that are in effect welfare states that keep their taxes low so they get more benefits from the rest of us. The top ten donor states are Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, North Dakota, Illinois, New Hampshire, Washington state, Nebraska, and Colorado (though this list changes with state tax laws). The taxpayers in these blue states are subsidizing the states that produce the most hatred and bigotry because they are Republican states.

The top twelve welfare states are New Mexico, Mississippi, Kentucky, West Virginia, Alabama, Arizona, Alaska, Montana, South Carolina, Indiana, Louisiana, and Tennessee—mostly Republican states full of white evangelicals and white supremacists.

Trump is turning the country into a mockery of government. While I’m angered at the mess he has made and at the sheer hatefulness of his supporters, my personal Rubicon will be crossed if he wins re-election because that will truly signal the end of the US of A. At that time, I’ll fully support the separation of the United States into two countries, one progressive and one run by the Christian Taliban for white people only.

Watched the people of the state (no offense intended) get stupider and more racist year after year after year. Moved to Nevada...crazy people here are more worried UFOs than MS13.

15. No offense taken! I'm not a native, but I live here for the winters.

I moved from the North and just could not take the long winters, snow shoveling, and cold temps. Plus, Austin is a great city to live in. I still have hopes that Texas will turn blue. Most of the major cities (all except El Paso) have turned blue. The 2020 election may not be the turning point unless we can get lots more Democrats registered and then get them to actually vote. Fingers crossed.

23. I'd say that crossing started right about the time media began treating his candidacy seriously

In any reasonable society, he would have been laughed at and ridiculed to the point where he would never show his face in public again (oh, what a wonderful world that would be....)

12. the most effective boycott pressure will be directed at talk radio - stoprush x 100 is easy with AI

artificial intelligence means it is now much easier than it was then to mount boycott pressure.

it is much easier faster and cheaper nowwith artificial intelligence-enhanced transcription and a service like sonix.ai where it's $5/hr and they put it in a text program that makes it very easy to list advertisers and their contact info with very little listening. - described at republiconradio.org

RW talk radio is already way in debt and if dems start doing a little of that - which can be done with any radio station anywhere by streaming, the ad industry will get the message and do the rest - they willl have to stop bundling radio advertisers onto those stations. they will have to start asking them if they actually support trump, global warming denial, racism, putting kids in cages, threats to congresswomen, etc

the ad industry wants those ears that all those mega limbaugh stations reach and when it applies market demand the monopoly will fall apart and many stations will be changing programs.

14. Collegiate sports are a major part of the programming and these universities should be taken to task

You should not be able to air political hate talk programming and also air content from public universities. If that's not exactly legal under the Constitution then these universities should be publicly shamed for their decisions.

17. that would also get advertising industry's attention - seeing a few protests at those unis

like florida, penn state, mich state all support 10 or more limbaugh stations. that would greatly change politics in those sttates to have those stations on the defensive.
