I don't know if this is the right place for this post but let me know. Just a warning.

I just received a call from Microsoft informing my that they had just charged my account with $294 for renewing a software subscription (which I do not have). The recording gave a number to call if I wanted to cancel my subscription.

I know this is a scam so i hung up. Just wanted to alert others who might be susceptible to this crap. The caller ID that showed of actually said MicroSoft. I really hate this crap because I know so many people fall for this stuff.

Where people sign you up for things that you will be charged for, without your knowledge, magazine subs and that type thing. So, this could be an ID theft situatuon.

Call the number to check? NO

check with your credit card company or bank to look for any fraudulent charges and refuse any you might find

Microsoft as a rule does not call anyone. That was my first clue that it was a scam.

Thank you. It's important for people to keep spreading the word especially to family about these scams. They have been around trying to steal our money for years, and they are still working on that now! I have just found some reports about similar scams that have been filed by people at https://www.whycall.me/315-791-4443.html even since 2014!! They are very very persistent. We need to be on extra guard.
