Are Trump's Poll Numbers Actually Going Up

and if so, why? Legitimately curious about this, since I've heard it talked a lot about in terms of not impeaching Trump. Most polling I've seen has him around low-to-mid forties with still 50+% disapproving of him (which is pretty much where he has been sitting nearly his entire Presidency- with some variance). Is that not still the case?

'rump recently cited a 52 % approval poll in a tweet. That poll was about handling the economy.

I want to know why they aren't going down. Are there that many here in the USA who don't have a clue? It is frightening.

Unfortunately, "politics" has been given such a bad name throughout US history, that participation rates have been low. Participation in the 2018 election was "The first non-presidential election to exceed 100 million votes". Turnout was the highest in 40 years. The participation rate was still only 53.4% of eligible voters. That means that 46.6% of eligible voters did not participate. We have many millions of people who do not pay attention to politics at all, but ask them about who got traded to where in the NFL, MLB, NBA, or NHL. Ask them who is leading on The Voice or the latest reality show and they can tell you.

I remember this:

"Don't believe those phony numbers when you hear 4.9 and 5 percent unemployment," Trump said. "The number's probably 28, 29, as high as 35. In fact, I even heard recently 42 percent."

— Donald Trump on Tuesday, February 9th, 2016 in a victory speech after the New Hampshire primary

In Trumpworld, that translates to this:

"Don't believe those phony approval ratings when you hear 43 and 44 percent like Trump," the Orange Wannabe Bond Villain said. "The number's probably 78, 79, as high as 85. In fact, I even heard recently 92 percent."

Many valid sources seem to present that the majority of this country is not for impeachment of trump
That does not necessarily mean that they do not think trump totally sucks
I guess even many house reps that are Dems are against impeachment or it would already have started but they would not vote for trump

Do any of the polls attempt to explain *why* they are against impeachment (I mean non-Trumpers)

6. I check RCP averaged poll numbers from time to time. His numbers go up a little,

then they go down a little. They stay fairly steady. When all polls are averaged you can see that he has never reached 50% since inauguration.

racist and homophobic people. Until tRump came along, I guess I was the naive one. I never realized there were so many hateful and ugly people in the US. That is what really scares me about the US. I would hope his poll numbers are contrived and fake. If he is reelected in 2020, I doubt there is much of a sane future for the US as the institutions that made this country great continue to crumble.

I don't trust it...the technology..what we don't know about the equipment..

If indeed vote numbers can be manipulated, it kinda makes polls...irrelevant..

Doesn't it?
