This is an attempted overthrow of representative determination. It is an outrage...

Brexit and Trump are but two examples of the textbook smokescreen behind which we are witness to a transfer from democracy to an absence of democracy within the West. Those behind it are actively working to undermine our democratic customs and cede this displaced rule and authority into the hands of those who sit outside democratic norms and behaviours.

This is an attempted overthrow of representative determination. It is an outrage, and it still might work.

Look at the evidence: We have a quickening right-wing rampage to annihilate the tattered remains of safety nets for the vulnerable; any sense of community accountability; and, the conservation of mother earth.

All this bollocks about ‘MAGA’ and ‘energising' Britain, basically denotes a co-ordinated strategy of ‘let’s take advantage of the idiots while we can’ approach to governance. We are seeing an almost daily acceleration of this tactic. They must, otherwise they potentially run the risk of not completely disabling our democracies and therefore the danger for them of not being able to cash-in on the con grows.

It has been a long con. Over a number of decades. And we need united opposition to this with preservation of democracy as our urgent priority. Impeachment? A General Election? Both would be a start I think..

Just sayin’

And this problem arises when Libertarian sociopaths are elected by low information and/or racist voters.

Why is Bexit being pushed so hard by certain parties? I've heard one theory that it's to run it all into
the gutter and pick tangible assets up for a song. Of course only individuals with high liquidity would be
able to take advantage. E.g., one could buy dollars with pounds (wait for pound to crater) and then reconvert.
Am I being too cynical?

The elite want a return to a society before regulation. The EU makes the UK play by rules that do not fit with the global elite who live outside the rules of normal governance. In the UK those with 'blue blood' or billionaires want to not to have to play by the rules of normal society. You know the shit that makes us human. In addition, a whole shit load of them made a bucket load by going short on sterling... they made a packet. They sit in EU based offices raking in millions while the last of our manufacturing base is being destroyed before our eyes. Farming will be next. They see themselves as a low tax, low regulation off shore playground for the very wealthiest - those who literally want to not have to play by any rules, while the rest of us struggle with high prices and low income. They will continue to pretend we are the oldest modern democracy on the plant - while they prorogue Parliament every time something does not go their way. Other than that.... Splendid
