A satirical 1960's comedy with Alan Arkin, Carl Reiner, and Jonathan Winters.....

But I get the gist of the cartoon.

I was just a little kid, and our whole family loved it.

Coincidentally, the movie came up in conversation yesterday. My wife and I intend to watch it soon.

over the last 15 years, that our national security apparatus kind of clamped down on Hollywood after that movie, it was viewed as too pro-Russian during the Cold War, and that trickled over into Rocky and Bullwinkle (Boris! Natasha!) and helped its decline.

Can't find such a link this morning so my memory is all that remains. I probably researched during the time the Dudley Do-Right and Rockly and Bullwinkle films were released - 2000 or thereabouts.

an American gets on the phone to yell "Emergency!" just like in the film "Where Eagles Dare"? (near the end where the Nazi phones the airfield control tower). I keep meaning to see if it's the same guy or if my mind is confabulating again.

but I could be wrong, of course.

And that scene where the Nazi calls the tower could also be from Casablanca.
