In the wake of the Gilroy Garlic festival, are there other people that are concerned about attending these festivals? Have your plans changed at all, or do you still feel comfortable attending?

Elsewhere, not so much.

(5,524 posts)It is tragic and happens way too often but it is still a statistically insignificant thing to worry about.
You are much more likely to suffer from a fatal car crash on the way to the festival.
For that matter, I would worry more about food poisoning from those pop-up food stands. Especially the ones selling sushi.

(14,337 posts)Shawnee Mt., Pa., Labor Day Weekend. Since it's at the border, there are a lot of people coming from NJ and NY. You cannot live your life in fear.

I also will walk to my car during a thunderstorm without worrying about being hit by lightning. Extremely rare events are extremely rare.
