George Will on Little Ricky: Republicans Just Want To Have Fun

Quick! What’s one word you would use to describe Rick Santorum? …Devout? …Stylish? …Fertile? NO. The answer, according to George Will, is “fun.”

Republican voters, not unlike girls at the end of the working day, just wanna have fun. Or, at least, don’t want to play by the rules to which they feel expected to adhere:


George Will: Rick Santorum has become central because Iowa Republicans ignored an axiom that is as familiar as it is false: Democrats fall in love, and Republicans fall in line. Republicans, supposedly hierarchical, actually are — let us say the worst — human. They crave fun. Supporting Mitt Romney still seems to many like a duty, the responsible thing to do. Suddenly, supporting Santorum seems like a lark, partly because a week or so ago he could quit complaining about media neglect and start having fun, which is infectious.

Rick Santorum is Against Women's Rights
Women from Pennsylvania and every other state in the country should be wary of Santorum and his views on women's rights. He is against women's rights, women's health and against women in the work place. He ought to just come right out and say that a woman's place is in the kitchen, barefoot and pregnant.

1. That's odd... one word that does NOT come to mind when I think of Republicans

is "fun."

But then, fun for George Will - a pompous, dweebish pecksniff in a bowtie - would probably not be fun for me.

I wouldn't think of Rick Santorum as "fun." He's a very serious person.
