Having grown up in Silver City NM near El Paso

I am just sick and heartbroken of this news of the massacre in El Paso. For the most part we in southwestern NM neighboring El Paso exist happily with our Mexican counterparts. Never any violence or problems that I can remember. This massacre is a complete shock ... a bold statement: I blame Trump and the hateful policies he invokes in regard to Mexico. Bless these families of the murdered and may the wounded be healed.

Bless you for the sentiment, which, I'm sure is representative of residents of NM/West Texas. ancianita Aug 2019 #3

My youngest son lives in Silver City, one of the best kept secrets of NM ("land of enchantment" ... though I've been to El Paso many times ... lord, Texas is Big)

I'm so glad to read your post!

I think this situation reflects on the shooter, whose background location situates him squarely in an area of Texas that historically lacks understanding of your part of Texas and its people's history.
