On 1/24/17, a citizen filed a complaint against Ben Carson's super PAC and its "National Digitial Director," Ron Robinson.
The citizen was under the impression they were donating to Ben Carson's campaign when, in fact, they weren't.
And...

National Draft Ben Carson for President Committee -> The 2016 Committee -> Stars and Stripes Forever PAC
🔥The most explosive finding here is the last footnote here... that, by the time the citizen received an e-mail from the Carson PAC on 9/16/15, the PAC already reported 11,000 itemized donations!
This means Robinson had e-mails and personal info of up to at least 11,000 people!
Lastly, Ben Carson's "authorized committee," Carson America, used the PAC's "email list on a rental basis," which explains why they sent an email to the citizen on 11/16/15.
This proves Robinson's PAC collected info on its donors and rented their donor/email list out to Carson!
And, to drive it all home again, Ron Robinson worked with Yandex (Russia's "Google" , cryptocurrency, and set up email servers for his clients to bypass @NSAGov and to be "subpoena resistant."
McConnell & Gingrich are also alleged clients of his!

Here it is.
This site is owned/run by a leading GOP digital operative. He runs systems on servers physically located in Russia, and advertised it.
Mitch McConnell is a client. Ben Carson is a client. Gingrich is a client. And many more.

Keep in mind:
Robinson had "over 100" GOP clients, so he would have data on more than 11,000 people.
Above is solid documentation filed w/ the FEC that would support 11,000 at a minimum... but this is only for Carson's PAC and only prior to Sep 2015.

(32,613 posts)Carson has been caught sleeping at the wheel more than once. It seems that some RWNJ's have treated him like a useful idiot, if you know what I mean. But I could be wrong about that.

(24,653 posts)I can't see the Russians hanging their hat on a single candidate. I would imagine they engaged in electoral espionage on behalf of a number of individuals Putin would see as particularly pliable and useful to him. I don't think he much cares which stooge is parked behind the Resolute Desk so long as it is someone he can leverage on his behalf. Can you imagine Donny's ego crush were he to realize Putin just wanted a warm body beholden to him in the White House and didn't really care if it was Trump or someone else?

(18,964 posts)There is also the possibility that Putin wanted data from all the factions..not just Donnie's supporters but the whole "universe" of Repbulican Donors/voters.

(6,178 posts)So to think he might not know what is going on in his political world means one of two things to me.
1. He is suffering from Dementia / Alzheimers.
Therefore he isn't qualified to hold the office.
2. It's a political ploy to use as a defense if called to task.
In other words, he's another Trump Con man stealing from the taxpayers.

(32,613 posts)All Ben Carson ever cared about was banning gay marriage, and he had religious reasons for that.
Somehow he wound up being used by some crafty right-wingers who got him to go along with other right-wing issues. I think he's been out of his element for a long time, and he was probably not even there when the Russian collusion was discussed. It seems he's being used and doesn't even realize it. That's my take, but I could be wrong.

(6,178 posts)How many millions did the taxpayers spend investigating Clinton?
Her emails and Benghazi?
One additional fact demonstrates the skewed priorities of the Republican-controlled Congress.
In 2001-2 Congress created a Joint Inquiry by the House and Senate intelligence committees that held 22 hearings [9 public and 13 closed] into the 9/11 attacks. [See H Rpt 107-792, p. 2]
So far, various panels have held 20 hearings on Benghazi, with the 21st to come on Oct. 22 when Hillary Clinton testifies.
22 to 21 suggests equal significance, doesn't it?

That would be very dangerous to our Democracy if they did. Wait until the money trail is completely exposed by them. What other Senators are taking russian money from putin?

(10,151 posts)Government information, to Russian spies and Putin as far back as 2012 (I couldn't find anything dating back further from the links but it probably goes back further).
It's Not classified information but it is information that costs to accumulate and is sensitive. Former gov't officials feeding voting system info to Russian spies and hackers is very dangerous to our democracy.
But no vote counts were rigged and no votes were switched just because......

(70,480 posts)... Putin is a nice guy. So the FSB was into our election infrastructure but they didn't do anything?
Funny when we had the old fashioned voting machines where you pulled down a little mechanical
tabs to pick your candidate or issue and then you voted when you opened the curtain by pulling
the lever that opened the curtain the exit polls matched the vote but after HAVA (help America
vote act) the exit polls stopped matching the vote. McConnell knows that dirty voting has kept
Republicans in power and that in 2016 "the fix was in" hence his blocking of Merrick Garland.

(10,151 posts)First there is some amount of bulk involved if you are going to make an impact on millions of votes. Someone is going to see you or record you on camera carying the bulk and stuffing them. Even if they merely see you going in and out of your car with a big package.
Then you will have to spend a lot of time making those ballot resemble the actual ballot and actual people who vote. Then you have to make each one look different so someone seeing the same signature over and over again may find you out.
Then you will probably need someone to get you through all the layers of security. You can't just walk up and put ballots in a box, you have to sign in. You are watched when you put your ballot in. You are watched coming in. It would require help.
With computers it is so much easier. Some machines and counting software, as reported in Wire, only needs the right radio signal to switch votes. A radio signal that can be sent from 2 blocks over. And you can switch hundreds of thousands of votes at a pop.
So much more simple especially when you have Russian spies with lots of capital helping you out.

Strange: looking up "gingrich ussr" brings up this gentleman's wikipedia page: Genrikh Yagoda
Genrikh Grigoryevich Yagoda (Russian: Ге́нрих Григо́рьевич Яго́да, 7 November 1891 15 March 1938), born Yenokh Gershevich Iyeguda was a secret police official who served as director of the NKVD, the Soviet Union's security and intelligence agency, from 1934 to 1936. Appointed by Joseph Stalin, Yagoda supervised the arrest, show trial, and execution of the Old Bolsheviks Lev Kamenev and Grigory Zinoviev, climactic events of the Great Purge. Yagoda supervised the construction of the White SeaBaltic Canal with Naftaly Frenkel, using penal labor from the GULAG system.
