Trump says "BE QUIET!"
Trump tells O'Rourke to 'be quiet' in wake of El Paso shooting
BY BRANDON CONRADIS - 08/07/19 12:13 AM EDT President Trump late Tuesday night responded to criticism from former Rep. Beto O'Rourke (D-Texas), who has repeatedly assailed the president following a mass shooting in El Paso, Texas. "Beto (phony name to indicate Hispanic heritage) O’Rourke, who is embarrassed by my last visit to the Great State of Texas, where I trounced him, and is now even more embarrassed by polling at 1% in the Democrat Primary, should respect the victims & law enforcement — & be quiet!" Trump tweeted. In response to Trump's tweet, O'Rourke said, "22 people in my hometown are dead after an act of terror inspired by your racism. El Paso will not be quiet and neither will I." https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/456479-trump-tells-orourke-he-should-be-quiet-in-wake-of-el-paso-shooting As for mocking people, because of their given names: Donald Trump's ancestors changed their surname from "Drumpf" to "Trump." Donald’s grandfather was a German immigrant named Frederick Drumpf who emigrated to the U.S. in 1885 and became a naturalized citizen in 1892. At some point, he started calling himself “Frederick Trump,” but it is unclear if he ever changed his name officially. Some have speculated that he didn’t want to be known as “Drumpf” because of prevailing prejudice against Germans (which would heighten, of course, during World War I). https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/donald-drumpf/

3. O'Rourke sounds Irish to me. As for the nick-name "Beto"...
He has two younger sisters, the younger one born intellectually impaired. In his infancy, his family gave him the nickname "Beto", a common Spanish-Portuguese nickname for first names ending in "berto" to distinguish him from his namesake grandfather.

32. The OP recounted Drumpf as having 'emigrated.' He was actually kicked out of Germany.
And he was kicked out because he was a draft dodger, just like tRump. He may have landed in the U.S. back then, but he then migrated to Canada, and there he set up a bordello. Thus, the legacy began.

37. Yep, it was an illegal emigration according to German authories
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frederick_Trump#Marriage_and_family
Soon after the family arrived in Germany, Bavarian authorities determined that Trump had emigrated from Germany to avoid his military-service obligations, and he was classified as a draft dodger. On 24 December 1904 the Department of Interior announced an investigation to expel Trump from Germany. Officially, they found that he had violated the Resolution of the Royal Ministry of the Interior number 9916, an 1886 law that punished emigration to North America to avoid military service with the loss of German citizenship. In February 1905, a royal decree was issued ordering Trump to leave within eight weeks due to having emigrated to evade military service and failing to register his departure with the authorities. For several months, Trump petitioned the government to allow him to stay but he was unsuccessful. |

Cowardliness appears to be a Trump family tradition.
Podiatrist's daughters say bone spur diagnosis that helped Trump avoid Vietnam draft was 'favor'
William Cummings, USA TODAY WASHINGTON – Two daughters of a New York podiatrist say that 50 years ago their father diagnosed President Donald Trump with bone spurs in his heels as a favor to the doctor's landlord, Fred Trump, The New York Times reported Wednesday. Trump received five deferments from the draft for military service during the Vietnam War. He received four education deferments while he was a college student and a fifth deferment in 1968 for a medical exemption after he graduated. Elysa Braunstein said their father made the diagnosis to gain access to the landlord [Trump's father] and that she didn't know if her father even examined the junior Trump. "I had a doctor that gave me a letter – a very strong letter on the heels," Trump told the Times. [But alleged bone-spur didn't interfere with Teflon Don's athletic endeavors] "I was the best baseball player in New York when I was young," Trump told interviewer Michael D'Antonio in 2014. "I was always the best at sports." Questions about Trump's deferments have dogged him at least since 2011 when The Smoking Gun published an extract of his draft record. Critics have noted that Trump was an athlete who enjoyed playing football, baseball, squash, tennis and golf in the years before his medical deferment. Trump told the Times in 2016 that a doctor wrote him a letter for the draft board about the bone spurs – which Trump said were "temporary" and "minor" – but he could not recall the doctor's name. "I had a doctor that gave me a letter – a very strong letter on the heels," Trump told the Times. When asked which foot had the problem, Trump – who has claimed to have "one of the greatest memories of all time" – told reporters that he could not remember. His campaign later released a statement saying the spurs affected both feet. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/onpolitics/2018/12/27/trump-vietnam-war-bone-spur-diagnosis/2420475002/ |
