In an online forum, he went by the name ArmyOfChrist and praised the Oklahoma City bombing, mass shootings and attacks on Planned Parenthood, the FBI says. When the deadly siege in Waco, Tex., came up, he allegedly offered one lesson: Shoot every federal agent on sight.
Dont comply with gun laws, stock up on stuff they could ban, he allegedly wrote in another post. In fact, go out of your way to break these laws.
The comments were all written by an Ohio teenager named Justin Olsen, the FBI says in federal court documents. And when agents raided a home where the 18-year-old lived earlier this month, they found about 10,000 rounds of ammunition and a vault full of assault-type weapons and shotguns.
On Monday, Olsen was charged on one count of threatening to assault a federal law enforcement officer. His case comes as federal agencies face mounting pressure to root out homegrown terrorists in the wake of two mass shootings earlier this month and amid a national upswing in violent right-wing extremism.
Police rushed to arrest Olsen just three days after mass shootings in Dayton, Ohio, and El Paso, with a local prosecutor citing the attacks as a justification for an urgent arrest, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported.

(20,756 posts)I thought Federal agents were the good guys now, in charge of throwing brown kids in cages and investigating the Clintons' conspiracy to kill Jeffrey Epstein and guarding President Windrip from liberal horrors...
Someone get me a new game program, I'm obviously out of date.
This, of course, is the real problem behind white nationalist terrorism. And if Federal law enforcement can't investigate and deal with it because their leadership wants to subtly ENCOURAGE it, not to mention their own ranks being riddled with it, they will end up with a terrible toll.

(53,764 posts)about now I keep eyes and ears open for young, white males. Just this weekend I was in a mall waiting outside a restaurant for a friend when a group went by and a young, white guy among them remarked "...did you seel that libtard..."
That was all I could make out of that sliver of conversation but it made me sit up and understand that we are living in a society where active shooters can materialize anywhere now.
Black men are so often portrayed as the dangerous "bogeymen" in our society but most active shooters look like the face in that photo.

(13,036 posts)kid has the same deadpanned look on his face as the Dayton & El Paso shooters. Their radicalization is no different than the ones who were radicalized by ISIS groups.
The article mentions he had won a scholarship from UT and was planning to move there to attend. My kiddo is in her last year at UT, which is a highly liberal campus. He would stick out like a sore thumb. For my kiddo's sake, and the other students and faculty there I'm glad he's now behind bars.

(13,566 posts)he's been into. It's kind of hard to imagine his dad wasn't responsible for most of it. I doubt he got all the guns and ammo mowing lawns.
Get the whole story out of him. When he first got online and what were his influences, all of that. It should be a good insight into what's driving these idiots. None of it will surprise us.

(2,690 posts)about a cute little white boy who makes enough money mowing lawns and selling lemonade that he can buy baseball cards, a Schwinn Monroe Electric bicycle, 3 AR-15s, 2 Glock 19s, a .500 S&W Magnum, and 100 M67 grenades, as well as cartons of explosive materials.
Yes, Justin is truly the All American Boy! Wait! Is that Mom calling him to lunch? "OK, Mom, soon's I'm finished loading my rifles for my trip to the mall with Billy and Sally! And, hey, did you see what I did with my 28 gauge? Sally said the 20 hurts her shoulder when she fires it."
That's our Justin, always concerned about the little ladies!
The show could have been narrated by Dana Loesch -- would have saved her career!

When officers went to Olsens fathers house on Aug. 7, they saw about 300 rounds of ammunition on the stairway leading to the second floor. They entered the home for a safety sweep, seeing a computer and iPad in Olsens room. In another bedroom, they found rifle cases, thousands of rounds of ammunition, camouflage clothing and camouflaged backpacks, along with a large gun vault, the affidavit states. Inside the vault were AR-15-style rifles and shotguns.
In all, the search of the house resulted in the seizure of 15 rifles, some of which were assault-style, as well as 10 semi-automatic pistols and an estimated 10,000 rounds of ammunition, according to the affidavit. Authorities also found a machete in the trunk of Olsens car.

Urging people to shoot federal agents is never acceptable, U.S. Attorney Justin Herdman said in a statement. This defendant had access to an arsenal and we take his threats very seriously.
I assume the "Army of Christ" nowadays puts an AR-15 in your face rather than a Bible.
His daddy can't say he was not aware of this shit either. Who the hell paid for this arsenal?

(9,967 posts)Republicans need to be asked Where do you see this anger and hatred toward minorities and immigrants going? Your support of Trumps racism and your lack of support for getting military-style weapons out of the hands of murderers says youre ok with the current situation. Background checks are not the answer because mass murderers can pass those. So what is your answer?
This is a problem created by Republicans, and it needs to be hung around their necks.
