Corruption, cruelty, sadism and pure evil define Donald Trump

And, by association, it also defines the Republican Party that is letting this madman do whatever he wants to do, anytime he wants to do it, and to whomever he wants to do it to.

This is a first for America. Yes, we had a civil war in which more Americans died than in all our other wars combined. But neither Abraham Lincoln, nor Jefferson Davis claimed to be, or aspired to be kings.

But the madman occupying the White House is America's first would-be king, emperor, "great leader," "Big Brother," "living god," or whatever else he wants to call himself. He really does want to rule America, according to his own whims, for as long as he lives.

Of course, there are uneducated, misguided, ignorant Americans who love him because they don't know any better. Not to mention the neo Nazis, the white nationalists, the insanely greedy, and the countless elected Republicans who know exactly what he is and will follow him to the gates of hell.

There's nothing new about any of this except that this is the first time the maniacs have gained all the levers of power in America.

This may change in 2020 if we can survive until then. But even so, these past two plus years have demonstrated that their is nothing special about America. "American exceptionalism" was a myth that has been exploded in the past two and a half years.

If/when we regain the White House, and both houses of congress, changes must be made to ensure that demented people can never again take control of America. Amending the Constitution will be hard because they still control enough states to stop an amendment. Nonetheless, we must find a way to prevent another era of total madness. Passing laws won't be good enough because they can nullify them if they once again come to power.

Let me try putting this another way. Those mentioned above are a dangerous disease that will erase democracy from the face of the earth. We are playing by rules. They aren't.

So here's are the questions. How do we stop them once and for all? How do we ensure the safety of humanity? How do we forever block them from destroying us?

might be a first step, followed by enforcing a ban on foreign contributions with real consequences. Do you remember the Buddhist temple scandal?

We must prevent them from stealing elections. And given the power of the presidency, the House and Senate, that is doable.

And if the (stolen?) supreme court tries to block us through insane decisions, they should remember that they too are impeachable.

We need to dig deep into our souls to stop this, not only for us but for those next generations to come. Do we really want them to live under a dictatorship. This is happening from within our own country not ISIS, not Muslims, Latinos. These are so called Americans.

https://www.supremecourt.gov/about/oath/textoftheoathsofoffice2009.aspx

The Combined Oath

Upon occasion, appointees to the Supreme Court have taken a combined version of the two oaths, which reads:

“I, _________, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will administer justice without respect to persons, and do equal right to the poor and to the rich, and that I will faithfully and impartially discharge and perform all the duties incumbent upon me as _________ under the Constitution and laws of the United States; and that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.”

I don't see our lawmakers doing this so we need to step up to the plate. Very sad state of affairs.

I agree with everything you say.

Musing upon the huge deficit while reading about the market selloffs, I think of the craven greedy Republicans who don't give a fuck. I'm sure their $$$ are offshored or otherwise protected.

We are living in evil times. The worst and unimaginable for the American experiment. I agree with you that we are indeed NOT exceptional.

It's not only trump - its those who enable and support him. It's a cancer that bloomed after and in response to our first AA president. Insecure assholes can't stand that there are POC smarter, better than them!

I wish I had answers. God do I wish it. I have a 26 year old daughter who deserves to enjoy a happy, healthy future!

Right now no clarity, only terror.

6. "American exceptionalism" was a myth

Well, it has taken a long tome for many people to realize that "American exceptionalism" is nothing more than propaganda, a make-the-people-feel-good-and-look-the other-way scam.

How many times I have cringed listening to idiots claim "America is the best country in the World". The first thing is that "America" is "South America", "Central America" and "North America", but then again I also cringe when said correctly "United States of America is the greatest country in the World". When you are fed crap like that on a daily basis you end up believing it, and then dismissing all the problems, thus looking the other way.

Like the saying goes, "to fix a problem you must first recognize there is a problem"...we are getting somewhere now.

He didn't pull the old bait-and-switch. He didn't pretend to be someone he wasn't. The same petty, childish, egotistical, despotic piece of racist shit is the SAME same incompetent, ignorant, egotistical, despotic piece of racist shit we all saw on the 2016 campaign trail...

And the fact that people voted him in regardless will be something I'll lose sleep over for years and years to come...

Anywhere there is secrecy there are a couple of heavy dudes plotting how to get their mitts on it all. Doesn't matter what their job is, or their patriotism, they're still after it.

Make it all public so it can be seen. Require people to vote. Fine them if they don't. Break up the news media. These warring factions and even PACs are crazy. Everyone's seeking advantage by appearing to hide their agenda.

Trustbusters were a great idea. Now they're needed for more than simply large corporations.

Once we have a candidate, millions will be poured into ads showing Trump's crimes and his insanity. These ads will help him with his base, but they're a minority.

Here's a fact. There is no way Trump can win the 2020 election. But it's likely that the Republicans and the Russians can steal it for him.

And if that happens, what are we prepared to do about it? You, me, all of us, what are we going to do about it?

Are we really just going to hang our heads and let another American election be stolen? And if this one is stolen, say goodbye to democracy. This country cannot survive four more years of the insane orange creature.

People who hate his living guts. I don't think I would recommend the bashing approach though. It's the stuff he's doing under the radar that will have broad appeal. For instance, trump has removed President Obamas regulation that stopped coal companies from dumping cancer causing sludge into our waters. Bet 99% of all people don't know that. A generic ad showing kids swimming with that info would be very compelling.

As for Russian influence on the election..suggesting WE do something about this when Congress can't and won't?

The sick prick really enjoys inflicting pain on "The Other."

Today, "The Other" are Latins, Blacks, and it's just a matter of time before he gets to the Jews. And this includes the Latins, Blacks and Jews who were stupid enough to vote for him in the first place.

And after all of the "THEMS" are gone, a new set of "Thems" will be needed. Need some candidates? Mormons, Catholics, Christian Scientists, ... you name it. All of the "THEMS" have to go.

And when all the purist of the pures are the only ones left, do you really believe he won't find another "THEMS?"

Follow this pattern to it's extreme. Once all the "THEMS" have been eradicated, there will be no one left on the Earth except for the Donald. (And maybe Ivanka.)

This is where his type of insanity leads to. Then again, perhaps he'll leave enough servants around to change the sheets and give him his two scoops of ice cream.
