Truckers voted for Trump in droves. Now say his trade war is killing their ability to make a living

Truckers, like Coffman, lean conservative. A Verdant Labs analysis of Federal Elections Commission data found that nearly three-quarters of truck drivers are Republican — one of the most conservative jobs in America, along with surgeons and farmers.

And truck drivers supported Trump in droves, according to an Overdrive magazine survey from 2016. About 75% said they planned to vote for Trump, up from 66% who supported Sen. Mitt Romney, the Republican presidential nominee in 2012.
--------
But a sharp downturn in the trucking industry and a slew of tax changes have hampered their ability to make a living. And many connect those two trends to Trump's economic policies.

"He has not affected our business in a positive way," said one truck driver who asked to be quoted anonymously for fear their small business might suffer. "He's killing our business. If consumers aren't buying, then there is no demand. This really isn't about my political leanings — it's pure business."

I love how once they have no more room to try and blame something on Democrats. Then and only then is when it becomes apolitical. I see you Republicans. No ya don't, not this time, and not ever again. You aren't going to slowly back away from this one like you did Bush2.
This is your fault and as such this man needs to shut his ya, stop crying and pull up those bootstraps and try harder. I mean, that IS the prescribed method in the Republican handbook for success in life, right?

Stand on your own two feet. No need for help. Forget the,” You did not build that!”

We all know you built that infrastructure you travel on with your own bare hands. Never mind that Trump and Republicans refuse to pass an infrastructure bill that would put millions to work, make your job easier.

Suck right up to Moscow Mitch and demented Trump. Enjoy you huuuge tax cut.

The fact that TCJA killed the Miscellaneous Deduction is why the truckers are hurting.

costing them big bucks. Maybe next time they'll think twice before voting for a grifter and a con artist. Don robbed from them to give to his Mar-a-Lago buddies.

Bankers, auto workers, farmers, coal miners, and many others he's said one thing , got their vote, then screwed them over like with his tax scam bill, tariffs, and starting a nuclear arms race., polluting the air and water, undermining the rule of law, and working for Putin, not us. Trump's a fraud and could care less about the truckers.
