Mitch McConnell is a Russian Asset.
This doesn’t mean he’s a spy, but neither is it a flip accusation. Russia attacked our country in 2016. It is attacking us today. Its attacks will intensify in 2020. Yet each time we try to raise our defenses to repel the attack, McConnell, the Senate majority leader, blocks us from defending ourselves.
Let’s call this what it is: unpatriotic. The Kentucky Republican is, arguably more than any other American, doing Russian President Vladimir Putin’s bidding. https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/mitch-mcconnell-is-a-russian-asset/2019/07/26/02cf3510-afbc-11e9-a0c9-6d2d7818f3da_story.html#click=https://t.co/KuAIjV8bmv

23. Good question - all the more so given the source (suspected narco Jimmy Chao)
Perhaps the conglomerates than own most media these days don't want it exposed, as they may often be at least a little complicit themselves.
That's another difference between us and most of the rest of the developed world (even some developing countries): In many other countries, any public official found to be living unusually well for his/her salary, family circumstances, or other easily explained gains (like a successful book, speaking fees, etc.), is promptly subjected to media scrutiny - and possibly formal inquires as well. Even excessive speaking fees are frowned on in many other places, as they can easily be turned into back-door bribery (I "speak" to Acme Petroleum for $200,000 - and, lo and behold, a month later that pesky bill Acme wanted gets passed). Such "coincidences" usually become major scandals elsewhere - whether or not there was corrupt intent. Here, it's bidness as usual. |

They funneled money from Russian oligarchs through the NRA to republicans. Thanks to Citizens united this is basically legal.

28. Moscow Mitch has been Chinese business's man in DC for over 30 years,
a relationship cemented the old-fashioned way by marriage to a daughter of one of the Chinese billionaires with whom he had a mutually beneficial relationship. She brought wealth far, far beyond anything he'd known to the marriage. She also inherited quite a bit when her father died fairly recently. I forget what I read, but seemingly she received more than some of her siblings, raising eyebrows and speculation as to why.
Fwiw, Moscow Mitch has always been famous among those who know him in being far more interested in personal power than personal wealth. It's possible that, like so many others, coming to be surrounded by enormous wealth in DC caused him to eventually feel uncomfortably poor and wanting more. If so, he fixed that in a way that made him immediately and legally wealthy, money laundering through marriage. |

32. Being fair to a man who's sold his influence for over 30 years
would be promising him ethical investigations and trials. So far as public knowledge goes, Moscow Mitch seems to have kept his activities officially legal, sometimes by writing and amending laws to make them so. Such as the law allowing Russians to donate unlimited dark money to his super PAC because donating to him directly is illegal.
From what I've read, the incidental cocaine discovered on one of his father-in-outlaw's cargo ships wouldn't be too illegal for the to be interested in, just far too small potatoes. ![]() |

McConnell is complicit with the overthrow of part of the US government by assisting in rigging the 2016 presidential election. For all practical purposes, the executive branch is now controlled by a foreign power. A soft coup.

I can't get Kevin McCarthy's quote to leave my brain, about the "two people I think Putin pays" (Rohrbacher and Trump). I think he said "swear to god" before Paul Ryan jumped in about it staying "in the family." Scum. All of them.

Democrats need to become more aggressive and not allow republicans to go after Democrats if they have not shown the same "courage" against one of their own when it merited.
When we say "a democrat would have..." it stops us right there, we go into "well, nothing happens to republicans", and all that has to stop. |

Unpatriotic is to subtle of a term for Moscow-Mitch, the reality is treason. Whether he conspired directly or not with Russia he became an accessory when he stopped Obama from bringing the issue to the citizens. Lets pretend there was no direct connection, he still helped the enemy attack this country, if that is not treason I don't know what is.
