(26,064 posts)Which Rick Scott kept going after. That ship has sailed, and DeBigot is smafrt enough to know it.
Amendment 4 changes will lose in lawsuits, but that will take a while to bite him. I loathe him, he is a racist and a crook and a misogynist, just smarter about it than Rick Scott.

(9,287 posts)In Florida. He is just another in a long line of odious GOP Florida politicians. But I guess that is Florida right now. IT45 is still easily able to win the state, even after all he has done.

There are very critical swing states that will determine the next President, and nothing should be taken for granted

(9,287 posts)We cant count on Florida. Maybe Texas goes blue before Florida goes blue again. I just cant believe that.

(31,261 posts)Out of the last 7 presidential elections, democrats have won Florida 3 times, republicans 4 times. The state is third behind California and Texas in electoral votes. Florida is winnable for democrats, it is not a state that we should ignore.

(59,501 posts)Between designating many African Americans as felons denying them the vote even though they weren't to the intentionally confusing Palm Beach ballot, many Gore votes were stolen. Still, had there been a whole state recount Gore would have won.

(31,261 posts)In 2000 and the 2018 election, Broward County made a mess of things with an overly complicated ballot. Broward is a very large and blue county. It seems that they put too many things to vote on in key elections, then try to craft a ballot that hold all of the things to vote for, creating a mess. One solution would be to hold municipal office, bond, and county office elections on dates other than November, as my county does. Our local races are in September and stay off the statewide and statewide/national ballot.

(31,261 posts)At any rate, since both counties lean blue, you can bet republicans are going to make an issue of any ballot snafu.
I don't know whether the elections supervisor in my county is a democrat or republican, all I know is that he runs fair voter registrations and elections and seems to have an organized office.

(9,287 posts)IMHO It will be easier to win the Midwest and pa rather than Florida. Both state houses in FL are GOP and both Senators and the Governor.
But your point is well taken.

(31,261 posts)The campaigns that lost focus on the big counties and put no resources in the other 58 or so counties in the state. The key to winning Florida overall is holding down the republicans winning margin in red parts of Florida, President Obama did that twice, President Clinton once.

(1,004 posts)and FLORIDA. None of this Texas/Georgia/N. Carolina talk should creep into our thinking. That's what got us into trouble in 2016 ("Hey, maybe she can pick off Georgia and/or Texas and really run up the score!" and don't pretend those posts didn't happen).
Focus on 270, nothing else matters.
