Make congress look pictures of bodies after they were shot with an assault rifle.
Make these people look at photos of shooting victims bodies and see what assault weapon does to it`s target. Lock the doors and make them see the autopsy photos of the kids in the school shooting in Connecticut. Show them the exit wounds or what a head looks like after being shot. If this makes them puke at their desks, than maybe, just maybe, they will do something to stop this insanity.

1. Democrats care. . .
Even if Republicans saw pictures of the victims, they just don't care.

2. Don't lump democrats in with "them."
It's not "they" who who won't do something, it's republicans. It's not congress as a whole, it's the congress critters who are beholden to the NRA.

3. Release of the Sandy Hook photos would be controversial but it
might horrify the public to the point where they would bring to bear a whole new level of pressure on our elected officials. I don't think Republicans would even wince looking at the pictures, but the public would be forced to remember the obscene and horrendous shame of that massacre of little children and teachers. I don't feel like America has ever really and fully synthesized the horror of that crime. It was too hard to face but maybe enough time has gone by that we need to resurrect the reality of Sandy Hook.

4. Photos of all victims should be made public
after identifying parts are redacted

6. The right wing crazies always hold up signs with pictures of "murdered babies" at abortion clinics
in order to intimidate and threaten those poor women trying to enter seeking services.
Perhaps we should gather at the entrances of gun shows holding up signs with pictures of mass shooting victims and make them look at the real murdered babies (and toddlers, teens and adults) that their intoxication with guns creates. |

7. I've been saying that for years.
Only not just members of Congress. The pictures should be shown on the nightly news and printed in newspapers. People have no idea the real damage that gunshots do to bodies.
There also needs to be a lot more coverage of the long-term devastation caused by bullet wounds. As it is, we focus almost solely on the death toll and very little on the survivors. |

8. Not photos. Have them work a full moon weekend in a Chicago ER.
As orderlies and nurses’ aids, so they can hear the wailing and see the suffering, personally.

11. No joke, I worked in an ER downstate Illinois when I was in college.
We HATED full moons and that was years ago before the country became as shooting gallery.

Of course, it’s worse in summer. Nurses warned me.

9. I was just thinking of this yesterday. Emmet Till's mother
opening up her son's casket at the funeral was a major factor in advancing the civil rights agenda. When people could actually see with their own eyes what this horrible racial hatred resulted in, it changed minds. The same thing would happen now if some of the victims' families agreed to release the pictures of their loved ones.

10. No, just don't give them any more security than your average Walmart.
No more army of elite police officers or metal detectors.
Whatever rules and conditions are good enough for the rest of us are good enough for them now too. If they don't want guns in the Capital, they've got to get them out of the entire country. |

12. i agree with those saying to release the pictures to the public
the republicans in congress are apathetic, they do not look at the rest of us as their equal or even human beings. but if the voters are swayed and the voters speak, they will listen.

14. isn't that what they did during the Vietnam war? Showing bodies and number of deaths
publically helped end the war.
That is what we need to do again |

16. I get the point, but
I don't think the families of the gunshot victims want their children to be shown like that. it would be totally up to the family to decide to do that, of course. Can't say I would want my loved ones mangled body to be publicized.
But I do get your point. |

19. Everyone should see them so that they will vote the gun lovers out
of office. Americans should see the real photos and videos of the bits of bodies blown up from the inside by these bullets which are designed to explode and shred tissue as it travels inside a victim's body. They should have done this with Sandy Hook and shown all those little 6 year old bodies. The media should do this as a public awareness initiative.
