2 men facing charges after caught on camera dangerously close to Yellowstone's Old Faithful

Two tourists are in hot water after they were caught on camera trespassing at Yellowstone National Park's Old Faithful and leaning dangerously close to the iconic geyser's spout while snapping cellphone pictures, according to park rangers and a witness.

The incident occurred on Tuesday at the nation's most famous geyser in Wyoming, according to park officials.

Witness Kimberly Guilliams was at Old Faithful with her family waiting for the thermal sightseeing attraction to blow when she spotted the two men ignoring no trespassing signs and leaving a designated boardwalk to step right up to the mouth of the steaming geyser.

Guilliams quickly took photos of the men, whose names have not been released, and reported them to National Park rangers.

like Disney theme parks.

I read about one guy who smeared honey on his little daughter's face hoping to get a picture of a bear "kissing" her.

Newsweek, in an article about the tourons--and that's also where I first encountered the label "touron."

NOTICE!

This is the line beyond which there is no promise or assumption of safety.

Should you pass this line and succumb to the obvious danger:

NO attempt will be made to assist you, save your life, or recover your corpse.

Should you survive, you are entirely on your own as far as any costs you incur for your stupidity.

You will NOT receive any recognition or notoriety for your idiotic act. You and yours will suffer complete indifference to your fate.

Any costs to the park or public incurred by your act will be borne by you or your estate or assigns.

Any persons encouraging such acts in others but not having the balls to do it themselves will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and perhaps beyond. We might find it a fitting punishment to be thrown screaming into the boiling abyss.

They get a lot of info upon entry, there are signs all over the place yet they persist.

I don't even go into the park anymore, it's right down the street, because of the disrespect of the tourists of the day. They have killed the park experience for most of us who live nearby and greed of those with property has priced the locals out of jobs, house and home.

I wish the park would close for a couple years to give the ecosystem a rest.
