Here is 84 year-old anthropologist Jane Goodall with 16 year-old climate activist Greta Thunberg at an event in Switzerland in January. Happy Monday, have a wonderful week, never forget that you can change the world

(16,850 posts)And the look of pure joy on Greta's face...that contrasts nicely with the look of disdain she gave trump

(38,410 posts)All Trump had to do was do nothing. Shut up sort to speak. But he couldn't "shut up", so he makes this "sarcastic comment" about this person. Kind of "stupid" for Trump to do this, but more than that. A whole lot of things could have been said, but this is very sad coming from the President of the United States.

Geez another classless, idiotic statement from the epitome of capitalism. I think he takes the descriptor bully pulpit literally.

(5,318 posts)but Greta's sanity and clear vision is the pure antidote to Trump's insanity and stupidity.
She has values we should all have. Where did we lose them?

(3,280 posts)Honestly, it reminds me of the villains from Captain Planet.
Growing up, watching shows like Captain Planet, I always thought those ridiculous caricatures of polluters as evil-for-evil's-sake "I'd turn the ocean into sludge if it made me five bucks" were so outlandish as to be a little too far for even a kid's cartoon. Wow, I was entirely wrong. Now I see that they 100% represent actual corporations and people who are so morally bankrupt that they're happy to pollute the ocean, taint aquifers, feed children water laced with lead and arsenic, set fire to the rainforests... if it'll make them another $5.
Bolsonaro, Charles Koch, and Nestle really are Verminous Skumm, Looten Plunder, and Hoggish Greedly.
