Imho Team Trump now trying to make Dems rush
Into impeachment.
They will the defend that this is a rush to judgement on one article of impeachment and only proves witch hunt, blah, blah, blah. This is attempting to force the vote in the Senate asap, so their Senators can have more cover for voting no because the Democrats are rushing through a witch hunt. I'll be glad for someone to talk me down.

5. Yes. Especially hearings. But take too long and tRump might actually resign.
In some ways tRump needs to be the one rushed. He is more likely to actually be impeached and face trial in the Senate, wherein the Republicon majority can be forced on record. tRump doesn't want to resign, ever. But even he might decide that is better than actually being impeached. Much depends on the exact evidence and how convincing it is to the American public. After all the spin. tRump has a habit of trying to spin first and very early. I trust Pelosi and the Democratic Caucus as a whole on the political calculus. Peril to the Republic seems to urge expedited hearings, but I have long ago decided to be mostly agnostic about what timings to choose for things in L'Affaire Drumpf. |

11. Agree, the Dumpster is a clear & present danger to our national security
It needs to be swift and decisive. Dithering will give him and his ilks too much time to change the narrative and change the public sentiment.

2. Considering how long it took them to even start an inquiry, I seriously doubt they
can be made to rush. As far as I've seen, they've been very deliberate and careful in how they are going about this. I fully expect them to continue in this vein.

3. Of course they are but it's not gonna happen.
Dems have been investigating and compiling evidence for awhile. We honestly have no idea what they plan to roll out. They're definitely not going to show their hand.
Look - it took awhile to get here and I trust Pelosi to make sure this one shot at impeachment is thorough and airtight. Team Trump is desperate lol. |

On matters of timing. Let them impeach when they're damn good and ready.

7. Nancy is in no hurry. She has six committees looking at all aspects of
The Dotard's criminality. She may want the actual impeachment to focus on Ukraine but she wants to investigate everything. She will keep Donald twisting slowly in the wind.

8. Nah, the whistle blower report is said to be even worst than the non-transcript. Dems will lose if..
we don't impeach, and you can forget the meme generated by repugs that is we impeach we will lose the election. Not necessarily so. The repugs impeached Clinton and won the election in 2000.
We can worry about repugs games, we need to do our Constitutional duty of oversight of the executive branch and impeach if called for or we risk so many Dems being disgusted enough for our non-action that they will stay home or vote third party. Fuck what the repugs say. We need to do our duty. |

9. I think Pelosi is aware of pitfalls like that. She may or may not perfectly predict what the
correct course of action is, when it comes to optimizing the public reaction to said actions, but I am fairly confident she will not be swayed from doing what she thinks is best for Democrats and America. And getting baited by Trump et al into playing into some Repuke plan of how to spin this to their advantage is not what is best. She's seen their gambits before.

14. I like how you characterize their lather, rinse, and move on tactics as gambits.
In chess, that has very specific meanings but I doubt the GOP's are always well thought out and now the public is waking up and paying attention to them for what they actually are doing.
