Ted Lieu sets Trump straight on his meeting with Wayne LaPierre

If the below article is accurate, it appears
@realDonaldTrump
seeks to trade action on legislation in exchange for financial support from the
@NRA
. That would be illegal. A felony, to be exact.

11. At this point Putin must know that his lapdog is a lost cause, he must know that it will be a waste

of money and resources to help the creature in his impeachment defense. I think everyone should know that.

The creature is so corrupt that he cannot stop breaking the law, it will get worst for him. Putin is savvy, he has to know he lost with the creature, that the creature is too much of a liability.

19. Putin wants to weaken the U.S. in the world

Sowing division accomplishes Putin's goals, so he may continue to fund The Dumbest Don as long as it keeps the U.S. divided and too preoccupied to help democracies around the world.

20. ding ding ding!

He'll continue to be Putin's useful idiot even if he does get impeached/convicted/voted out. Because his followers aren't going anywhere. They don't care if he betrayed our country. They. Don't. Care.

2. Trump Meets With LaPierre to Discuss How N.R.A. Could Support Political Defense

Trump Meets With LaPierre to Discuss How N.R.A. Could Support Political Defense
By Maggie Haberman and Annie Karni
Sept. 27, 2019 Updated 6:23 p.m. ET

President Trump met in the Oval Office on Friday with Wayne LaPierre, the chief executive of the National Rifle Association, and discussed prospective gun legislation and whether the N.R.A. could provide support for the president as he faces impeachment and a more difficult re-election campaign, according to two people familiar with the meeting.

It was not clear whether Mr. Trump asked Mr. LaPierre for his support, or if the idea was pitched by the N.R.A. During the meeting, Mr. LaPierre asked that the White House “stop the games” over gun control legislation, people familiar with the meeting said.

It was unclear what the N.R.A.’s financial support would look like, and whether it would pay for ads, as it did during Mr. Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.

Mr. LaPierre has been a leader in an aggressive campaign by gun rights advocates to influence the White House in the months since the back-to-back mass shootings in Texas and Ohio. In a series of calls and meetings, he has tried to move Mr. Trump away from proposing any sort of background check measures that he said after the mass shootings he might support.

9. Another impeachable offense

He truly has no sense of right and wrong.

When you view the vicious, violently amoral Roy Cohn as a mentor and role model—well, this is what you get.

He truly thinks there was nothing wrong with that phone call and the subsequent coverup. As he also sees no problem with exchanging legislative direction for funding of his legal bills. Yet another quid pro quo.

18. How about they just disband the organization altogether...

sort of how Congress crushed ACORN. I'm pretty sure if they look at the money trail (and the Russian honey, Maria Butina) Congress could find something that rises to the level of a felony offense.

28. Oh, wow! This probably gives me more hope than anything else.

It shows information is flowing into sources that can expose it to the public. It will surprise me if the Democrats even need an inquiry hearing before an impeachment vote. I doubt McConnell will even be able to block the vote in the Senate.

Get out of the way, Republicans. You are about to meet the devil who is going to lead you to your fate. Her name is Pelosi!
