Rudy went from somewhat respected leader during 9/11.. to a very stupid suck up clown..

He pitched his wagon to a "clown wagon" and is now a ridiculous, stinking, suck up clown.

(apologies to the clown industry and those working in that industry)

5. NONE

Rudy is a raving maniac. Contradicting himself from sentence to sentence, lying as much as his demigod. Rudy is just a sick joke now and he will eventually end up in the dustbin of history under "Whatever happened to...."

6. His "B.S. glory" (thx,C_U_L8R) was immediately replaced by criminal profiteering

He and his now-exCon "police commissioner" KERIK panhandled all over countries for "security consulting".

7. 9/11 was the best thing that ever happened to that asshole.

He went from a disgraced, unpopular loser to a "hero" overnight.

10. Agreed

It was truly his moment and one that he squandered by trying to capitalize upon it over and over again.

11. Rudy was NYC's Trump before Trump went national

Let's not forget how he launched his mayoral campaign with a police riot against mayor David Dinkins

https://www.cato.org/publications/commentary/rudys-racist-rants-nypd-history-lesson
(but in this case, don't be put off by the CATO link)
It was one of the biggest riots in New York City history.

As many as 10,000 demonstrators blocked traffic in downtown Manhattan on Sept. 16, 1992. Reporters and innocent bystanders were violently assaulted by the mob as thousands of dollars in private property was destroyed in multiple acts of vandalism. The protesters stormed up the steps of City Hall, occupying the building. They then streamed onto the Brooklyn Bridge, where they blocked traffic in both directions, jumping on the cars of trapped, terrified motorists. Many of the protestors were carrying guns and openly drinking alcohol.

Yet the uniformed police present did little to stop them. Why? Because the rioters were nearly all white, off-duty NYPD officers. They were participating in a Patrolmen's Benevolent Association demonstration against Mayor David Dinkins' call for a Civilian Complaint Review Board and his creation earlier that year of the Mollen Commission, formed to investigate widespread allegations of misconduct within the NYPD.

In the center of the mayhem, standing on top of a car while cursing Mayor Dinkins through a bullhorn, was mayoral candidate Rudy Giuliani.

***
"The cops held up several of the most crude drawings of Dinkins, black, performing perverted sex acts," he [Newsday columnist Jimmy Breslin] wrote. "And then, here was one of them calling across the top of his beer can held to his mouth, 'How did you like the niggers beating you up in Crown Heights?'" The off-duty cops were referring to a severe beating Breslin suffered while covering the 1991 Crown Heights riots in Brooklyn. Breslin continued: "Now others began screaming ... 'How do you like what the niggers did to you in Crown Heights?' "'Now you got a nigger right inside City Hall. How do you like that? A nigger mayor.' "And they put it right out in the sun yesterday in front of City Hall," Breslin wrote. "We have a police force that is openly racist ..."

Same tactics as Trump, just at city-level. He was "America's Mayor" in the hours after 9/11 because he was too stunned to act like his normal self. He didn't go 48 hours without floating the idea of cancelling elections and letting him stay on as mayor indefinitely.

And let's not get into his inability to acknowledge that proper police procedure by definition never involves plunger handles, and that just maybe precincts that don't know that have bigger problems than "bad apples."

12. "When you objectively look at the before, during, and after...

...there's not really much you can find that Rudy did right except for a good television appearance." -- Andy Ansbro, NYC Firefighter, former police officer.

13. Mostly he told us how great a leader he was

And we were in the business of making everyone a hero after 9/11, so no one countered his claims.

But now he is a 75 year old man running around the world doing the bidding for an absolute idiot. Why? Because he needs the attention.

I would expect that this coming week or the week after he will be held in contempt of Congress. He can't testify because he knows to what lengths Trump has gone to sell out the country.
