Have you noticed?

If you have Facebook, have you noticed your extreme right friends from high school years, post defense post of Trump and they now only get two or three likes? I checked on two my hard right friends Facebook page and learned they have over 400 friends on their page. Scroll back to the beginning of trump administration and they had over 60 likes to their hard right posts.

If they dont see it, they are just watching the titanic sink in the last hours. Its amazing how people are just BLIND to their surroundings!

1. I don't see any mention of The "Esteemed" Mr Trump

Other than in news articles or some political campaign sites. Those friends that are Republican either don’t post politics and never have or have been muted in my feed. I have found that hiding the sources from which memes come does wonders to improve my experience. I have done likewise for some democratic friends as it just gets to be nothing but politics there if I don’t. I want my feed to be more about my hobbies and friends than just that.

Its honorable to block the nonsense, I have simply not accept the hard right friends or removed them since trump took office. It's just the family and high school friends from my class of 1993 that I keep on my list. I dont post any political comments or do any likes due to my government position. But it is comical to watch those hard right, what is left, post eye rolling stuff that make you shake your head or roll on the ground from laughing.

10. As I figure it to be My newsfeed

and I have the means to filter out the chaff, I am going to do so.

If a friend puts up some photos from a weekend adventure even if it's not something I am particularly interested fine with me. The same person posting a bunch of memes that end up on my newsfeed is something I work toward blocking by trying to find the pages from where they came and blocking them.

I want stuff on my hobbies and information on people's activities but memes drive me crazy.

6. I removed them years ago. It was too distressing.

I see pro-trump comments on my twitter feed, though. Yesterday, I googled two and both were >90% chance of being twitterbots. They are working hard to give the illusion of more support than they have.

7. Hard to tell as I've done a hard cleansing

I've unfriended and friends and relatives in Facebook who support or supported T.rump in the past. I have cut them all out of my real life as well- all except my elderly parents. Even if they change their mind I cannot forgive them- they are the ones who put us in this mess and nothing I've seen from them makes me believe they will not fall for the next reality tv star that comes down the pike.

8. Facebook has begun hiding likes

https://www.cnet.com/news/facebook-has-begun-hiding-likes/

"We are running a limited test where like, reaction and video view counts are made private across Facebook," a Facebook spokesperson told CNET in an emailed statement on Sept. 26.

Facebook added that it would "gather feedback to understand whether this change will improve people's experiences."

As of Sept. 30, Facebook said it is still expanding the experiment to more people in Australia, but it should be out to the majority of people in the country within the next day or two.

The social network indicated earlier in September that it might experiment with hiding likes, after testing the approach on Facebook-owned Instagram this year. In August, Facebook said the Instagram test was meant to "remove the pressure of how many likes a post will receive" on Instagram, and that Facebook was "excited by the early test results."
