descriptions of Ryan:

Mr. Ryan has become the Republican Party’s poster child for new ideas thanks to his “Roadmap for America’s Future,” a plan for a major overhaul of federal spending and taxes. News media coverage has been overwhelmingly favorable; on Monday, The Washington Post put a glowing profile of Mr. Ryan on its front page, portraying him as the G.O.P.’s fiscal conscience. He’s often described with phrases like “intellectually audacious.”

But it’s the audacity of dopes. Mr. Ryan isn’t offering fresh food for thought; he’s serving up leftovers from the 1990s, drenched in flimflam sauce.

You think someone who likes Led Zeppelin and has a boyish face is going to be decent, then he opens his mouth and the fantasy dies a quick, painful death.

These bastards hate everything about the sixties but they sure love to glom onto the music.

Wonder if they ever listen to the words?

to appeal to whom??? What demo is he trying to reach? Can't be college kids because Led Zep was way before their time.

His eyes look lifeless, he does not seem to want to show anything, including showing who he truly is. I do not understand the media coverage of him. Isn't he an extremist, which is why the republican base loves him? I do not get that impression from the mainstream media, I do not hear that much about his extremism. He's a career politician (don't tea partiers hate that?) who is extreme but from what we've seen recently, it seems he is willing to say and do anything to get elected, just as Romney is.

He reminds me of a male Sarah Palin, who is also a career politician. They are both extreme, younger, and I guess considered attractive physically. Ryan seems perhaps a bit more intelligent that Palin, which is of course not much of a stretch, but he also seems more willing to deceive than Palin was. It may be that Palin was too stupid to realize that amidst the cheering of her base that the stuff she said did not appeal to a large swath of Americans, but Ryan seems to be cognizant of this fact and now he is trying to hide who he is.

They say the eyes are the windows to the soul, when I look into his eyes, I see no soul. I feel like Ryan has no concept of empathy and neither does Romney.

There was something obviously missing there - it was like there was a screen between him and the people there and the camera. He was on something or he just can't connect even with his eyeballs. Almost a fear, but not quite - feral like.

His eyes would make this quick left / fight movement while his mouth reminded me of Clutch Cargo.

Or maybe we get those guys in black suits to flash us with that little red light thingy.
