(2,412 posts)It is an excellent diversion for the media and that is working. But it can backfire too. I think he wants out of the presidency. He is so unhappy and just wants to go hang out at Mar a Lago and play golf with his friends.

The fact that he has done more than one stupid or insane thing at the same time doesn't mean that he planned one to distract from another; he just did them because he wanted to. Nobody is going to forget about either the Ukraine scandal or the Syria mess, but we can count on Trump to do more stupid things in the near future - none of which will be intended as distractions. He does stupid stuff just because he's stupid.
