We knew they'd do something big to eclipse the impeachment activity

So Syria is it. For now. And we’re supposed to believe that Republicans are SO disappointed.

Fuck. Them. All.

1. Does this not give the impeachment inquiry a lot more ammo?

I think it does...

2. I think you're right--it's the attempt to bury it (unsuccessfully) that's my point. nt

3. It is Working with the Media

It is an excellent diversion for the media and that is working. But it can backfire too. I think he wants out of the presidency. He is so unhappy and just wants to go hang out at Mar a Lago and play golf with his friends.

5. Whether or not it was intended as a diversion, it's something else to add

to the list of presidential misfeasance. It's satisfying to see even a lot of GOPers getting riled up about it.

6. No, it's not...

"Doing something big" implies a strategic goal. Nothing Trump ever does suggests strategic intent. It reflects an impulsive gut response.

8. Sure, the guy with an IQ of "room temperature" has this brilliant strategy to distract us

If you think today is helping Trump, I don't know what to tell you. Christ, you've got Fox News blasting him over it.

11. Dolt 45 has no strategy. He is occasionally tactical but he is never strategic.

Mostly he just reacts. The fact that he has done more than one stupid or insane thing at the same time doesn't mean that he planned one to distract from another; he just did them because he wanted to. Nobody is going to forget about either the Ukraine scandal or the Syria mess, but we can count on Trump to do more stupid things in the near future - none of which will be intended as distractions. He does stupid stuff just because he's stupid.
