CNN: Republican anger at Trump grows as Turkey launches 'sickening' attack on US allies

Washington (CNN)Turkey launched its military operation to flush Kurds allied with the US out of northeastern Syria Wednesday, sparking outrage in Congress and creating rare bipartisan unity about the risks to Kurds, US national security interests, regional stability and the fight against ISIS.

The attack has highlighted a rare Republican willingness to directly criticize President Donald Trump, who apparently gave Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan the go-ahead on Sunday to proceed with his long-planned move against Kurdish fighters who make up part of the Syrian Defense Forces who had fought against ISIS with the US.

The White House announced that US troops would move out the way and would not support or be involved in the operation.

"News from Syria is sickening," Rep. Liz Cheney of Wyoming, the third-ranking Republican in the House, tweeted Wednesday, echoing lawmakers across the spectrum. "Turkish troops preparing to invade Syria from the north, Russian-backed forces from the south, ISIS fighters attacking Raqqa. Impossible to understand why @realDonaldTrump is leaving America's allies to be slaughtered and enabling the return of ISIS."

Republicans have held the power all along to control the imbecile they propped up and went along with to get their way at giving more power to the wealthy, now the slimy shit blowback is all over every republican's face.

The..
'Gee, I did not know he was going to rob the bank or kill people with the gun he carried in while I waited for him to see where he wanted me to drive him next.'...
excuse is pathetic from every republican.
And that is exactly what republicans have been saying for 2 years to enable him.

I just spoke to a distraught US Special Forces soldier who is among the 1000 or so US troops in Syria tonight who is serving alongside the SDF Kurdish forces. It was one of the hardest phone calls I have ever taken.

"I am ashamed for the first time in my career."

This veteran US Special forces soldier has trained indigenous forces on multiple continents. He is on the frontlines tonight and said they are witnessing Turkish atrocities.

"Turkey is not doing what it agreed to. It's horrible," this military source on the ground told me.
"We met every single security agreement. The Kurds met every single agreement. There was NO threat to the Turks - NONE - from this side of the border." "This is insanity," the concerned US service member told me. ""I don't know what they call atrocities but they are happening."

Until solid action is taken against the creature nothing will happen. And like many DUers have expressed, start putting the people who defied the subpoena in jail, make them pay a daily fee, do something.

You two-faced slimy spawn of fucking Satan.

Meanwhile, Susan Collins is concerned about the fate of our allies and will do her best to discuss this with Trump the next time they bump into each other.

But they might be a bit delusional about reversing the decision. It is as if they want him to save face so they can enjoy him once again. Even if he did, that's a pipe dream now.

It is too late for that. The damage is being done and the slaughter is underway, they are pummeled and that includes many civilians.

What I would say to people like that is, what do you mean, reverse the decision? Just how would you do that now? With Turkey there, it is every possible for the US to get into a conflict by intervening. Turkey would have to retreat and that does not look likely.

What do you do with our allys? They have been betrayed? What, words? Go in and make nice? Sorry?

Naive.

The republicans have refused to put any constraints on trump.

They elected bush.

Then they stonewalled obama because he was black but also he was a democrat.

Then they managed to find someone worse than bush and elected trump.

Now liz cheney speaks for republicans?!?

They have found someone who could be worse than trump. If we survive trump.

The problem is republicans.

Now back to the immediate problem which is trump.
