By making critical testimony private, the public consensus cannot come around on impeachment. If Former Ambassador to Ukraine, Marie Yovanovitch's, testimony were live, the entire weekend would have been filled with sound bites on the news running 24/7.
Is this a mistake?

(2,315 posts)Just as with Grand Juries, investigating and reports of those investigations should be kept private. Once a decision to prosecute is made, then information can be made public.
The subject of an investigation does not get to dictate how investigations are conducted.
Pretty simple.

(10,429 posts)All hearings need to be public. If in some cases there are "national security issues" all they have to do is have the closed-door session after the public session and return to those issues. But the hearings should be public.

I've noticed that one sentence sound bites make it onto my local news channels. This is the early am coverage for working adults who do not use a cellphone app.

(54,770 posts)listen to 9 hours of questioning when there is only about 2 minutes worth of really damaging questions and answers.
Plus, it gives GOPers a chance to sound off with their idiotic talking points, that trump supporters think is so brilliant.
And quite frankly, I'm not sure Democrats have handled the questioning that well in recent hearings.
