So we’re to believe he makes over a billion dollars a year? And holy hell is it hard to listen to him. No wonder Republicans like him, he’s as incompetent as they are. The whole part of the emoluments clause isn’t about having business interests, it’s about foreign money. But we all knew that.

Abrogate the Emoluments Clause, and eventually he can toss anything else he doesn't like in the Constitution.

or even mainly, relevant to diplomats. Rather, at least some of them saw it as a broader anti-corruption measure.

For example, speaking at the Virginia Ratifying Convention, Edmund Jennings Randolph described the Clause as applying to the President, and as affording grounds for impeachment in the event of a violation:

There is another provision against the danger mentioned by the honorable member, of the president receiving emoluments from foreign powers. If discovered he may be impeached. If he be not impeachable he may be displaced at the end of the four years ... I consider, therefore, that he is restrained from
receiving any present or emoluments whatever. It is impossible to guard better against corruption ...

There are too many words in:

No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince or foreign State.

-- Article I, Section 9

and, in case Don the Con tries to launder foreign emoluments through a state:

The President shall, at stated Times, receive for his Services, a Compensation, which shall neither be encreased nor diminished during the Period for which he shall have been elected, and he shall not receive within that Period any other Emolument from the United States, or any of them.

-- Article II, Section 1

We need a cartoon version of the analysis by Eisen, Painter, and Tribe so the Traitor Tot can follow along. He's likely to either fall asleep or throw a tantrum if anyone tries reading all those big words to him.

So uptight about that old Constitution!

The phony Constitution and the phone Electoral College put your criminal ass in the WH, and the phony Senate approved all your judges.

He has to be hit where it hurts. He HATES losing or being perceived as losing. HE LOST. HE QUIT.

"You backed down in the face of something fake. Why?" He is either weak for backing down or knew what he was doing was wrong.

That is how this should be framed.
