"The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help."

This quote, while said in jest, has poisoned more Americans into thinking that the US government is not here to benefit of most Americans. Well, I guess right now it mostly helps the wealthy. The potential for the government to do great good is huge, but Reagan's statement has made people afraid to believe that. Many people now accept that statement is an assessment of government out to swindle Americans.

Leo gave a note to Jeb Bartlett when he was deciding whether to run for President in "The West Wing."
Years later, he still had the paper napkin that said, "Let Bartlett be Bartlett."

I think that was the episode where some of the campaign staffers missed their ride and got stranded in Iowa because they didn't realize they were in a different time zone.
