Chick-fil-A CEO In ‘Diversity’ Talks With College Campuses

http://www.thebraiser.com/dan-cathy-diversity-college/

This is now real progress happens regardless of politics. Don't get me wrong; I still think Don Cathy is an immoral slug. But that said, he plays the rubes for some profits by playing on their "gay marriage" hatreds. Then, when the dust settles, he makes all his employees and shareholders happy by talking quietly to his biggest critics about how to accommodate their concerns. What will probably come out of this is a Chick-fil-A that is less hostile to its gay employees, in order to quiet down the campus protests & defang the remaining boycotts, while Don Cathy continues to (now more quietly) funnel money into the same old homophobic right wingers.

In the end, he'll do what he has to do to get the franchises open again on college campuses and keep his toe in that market. He'll use the rubes when it suits his purposes (that's building brand name loyalty among the hate-filled demogs). But he only really believes in his market share. What's the love of money lead to again? Nevermind. Direct action is going to gradually defang the corporate policy of discrimination in the long run, one step at a time.

Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy Reportedly In ‘Diversity’ Talks With College Campuses

Chick CEO Dan Cathy “welcomed campus leaders to a private luncheon in Atlanta on Thursday to discuss diversity, hospitality and the opportunity to find common ground,” according to the Huffington Post.

However, college students were protesting Chick even before Cathy’s incendiary statements against gay marriage caused a media firestorm, which lead to protesters to stage a same-sex kiss-in against Mike Huckabee’s Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day. An NYU student began a petition to have Chick-fil-A removed from its campus in February based solely on the chain’s donations to anti-gay groups.

More recently, Duke University has announced that, as part of a campus dining overhaul, they won’t be renewing their contract with Chick-fil-A, although the reason hasn’t been explicitly linked with Cathy’s comments.
