Fox News is not covering the impeachment investigation

So, I've been surveying Tucker Carlson, Ingram, etc., and I found that most of their segments have nothing to do with impeachment. It's about everything else, gun ownership in Detroit, college campus news, and any other "news" designed to agitate their audience. But, little to no coverage of the investigation.

The biggest bias in news is non-coverage. This is why their audience is so ignorant of the issues. Fox simply does not cover them.

1. Do you think they would be covering it, if it was a Democrat getting impeached?

She is in chemo treatments so have no choice but to visit despite the fact that fox news is spewing 24/7. You'll all be relieved to know I learned that the only serious issue going on in the world right now is VAPING!

That they would have reported on this sooner, but there was a total news blackout of events by the dastardly Democrats, and the Republicans were completely shut out of the process, and doesn't your blood boil to see this coup!

everyone else is covering something that Fox is hiding. I don't think ALL Fox viewers will be happy about that.

In long perspective, newspapers historically were like that.

On the upside, as I mentioned in another thread, the standard network evening news programs do briefly over impeachment, - even the World Series 'lock him up chants'.

One of the first things you learn by writing anything is that what you leave out has equal impact as what you leave in.

Conservative newspapers are masters at this. If you want something to not be noticed put it in the back pages with a headline that doesn’t draw any attention. That’s if the news organization wants to be able to say that it covered the story.

Better yet is to just not cover whatever the issue is.

The Dallas Morning News is a master of both techniques.

Last Sunday there was a particularly impactful Doonesbury that reviewed some of the strips from 1974 about the Nixon impeachment investigation.

Strangely enough there was a “production error” and a strip called Pickles ran in its place. The phones must have lit 🔥 up because an apology for the “production error” was on page 2 in the Monday edition and the strip was published—but in black and white and much smaller and a lot of subscribers only get the Sunday paper. Very tricksy, eh?

Fox doesn’t give shit so they just don’t report the news.

Try asking an exclusive Fox viewer some questions about the controversy of the day. They often get very confused and defensive because they haven’t heard about it at all. If they do know anything about it they’ll start spewing the talking points du jour.

Fox viewers live in an information free bubble. What they know is usually made up or they don’t know anything about what is going on.

I know a lot of Fox only viewers and only a couple are nasty, deplorable people. But they see the world through the Fox prism.

Many are college educated, but know very little outside of their immediate world. Most know more about sports than what is going on.

One of my coworkers is very nice but is also super 2nd amendment, hated Obama, voted for Trump, and constantly says snarky stuff about “the government”.

So, horrible person right?

Not so much.

He’s actually one of my favorites. He’s just convinced of a lot of things that just aren’t true.

In a strange way this gives me hope. We’re really not that far apart.

There are some horrible people out there. But fewer than you might think. They’re ignorant because Fox, the Republicans, and other bad actors are actively lying to them.

How to deal with that is the issue of our day. But that’s another topic entirely.
