One thing that bothers me about one of the Republicans' defenses of Trump:

They (and he) are claiming that he was only concerned about ending the corruption in Ukraine.

It is pitifully obvious that his only concern with ANY corruption is "How can I get in on it?"

March 2017:

...Trump has dubbed the FCPA a “horrible law” that stifles American businesses trying to work abroad. “It puts us at a huge disadvantage,” he told CNBC in 2012. As president, he has killed a rule to crack down on foreign bribery by US energy companies, refused to release his tax returns, and canceled ethics training for White House staff.

since Rudy is apparently being investigated for having a piece of the action, I wonder if Don's involved, too. If there's a dollar to scam, he's usually first in line.

... have been charged with crimes, pled guilty, and are serving prison sentences, it seems that someone who is allegedly interested in ‘corruption’ would have noticed when it was happening directly under his own nose.

We all know how lazy Trump is – he could have gone after the corruption among his own people without ever having to leave the WH, or even get out of his pajamas.
