1. I think they're the ones 98% of us here either can't afford or wouldn't choose if we could ...
But someone else can probably give more details ...

28. They are actually reasonalby priced for hotels.
Depending on the day/location, the ones I checked had rooms for under $100 midweek, with an average rage in the 130-160 range.
They're not Extended Stay America, but they aren't the top prices in the market either. |

pricey during the week.

3. I believe they're in and around the Portland, OR, Vancouver WA areas.
He owns The Heathman in Vancouver which is a wonderful place to stay. Excellent restaurant there too...Hudson’s...which is favored by the locals. They make a fantastic Gorgonzola cheesecake appetizer. Dammit!

Vancouver is too working class for him. We do have a Hilton in Vancouver so save half on the room rate and drive 30mins in soul crushing traffic.
Cannot wait to see him love tRump’s ass on Wednesday. |

4. Unless, he's our hero...
He's certainly not looking to Trump to keep his fortune... He's going to save his ass and try to redeem himself by throwing Trump under the bus. That's my prediction.
Previous reporting has indicated he's already taking a lot of heat from his wife about how this whole thing is affecting their reputations. |

Earl Blumenauer calls for boycott of Gordon Sondland hotels Updated Oct 10, 2019; Posted Oct 09, 2019 Donald Trump, Gordon Sondland AP By Jeff Manning | The Oregonian/OregonLive The Constitutional crisis brewing in Washington, D.C., may cost Gordon Sondland. Congressman Earl Blumenauer on Wednesday called for a boycott of the hotels owned by the businessman-turned diplomat. He did so after Sondland declined to testify before the House Intelligence Committee as part of the Trump impeachment proceedings. |

What a shame it's owned by such an idiot.
There must be both a carrot and a stick. If he hides the truth and protects Trump, then by all means boycott! But we need to give him an incentive to tell the truth. If he's forthcoming, then there should be no boycott. |

17. I've stayed there too.
It’s my favorite place stay when headed to Portland or Vancouver for a concert. Not too pricey at all. The restaurant is amazing and you can’t get a seat in there without a reservation even if you’re a guest at the hotel. Guess it was my favorite place to stay...dang it.

19. I googled his properties.
And I came across a description of his wife as a Democrat.
The poor little rich kid had dreams of being a bigger ass than he already was. He hit the jackpot this time. He has a serious choice now. He used to do philanthropy to cover his love of Ayn Rand-if you call re-locating the homeless as a philanthropic cause. He was a society hoity toit and now he faces serious jail time. Cover the malignant tumor that is Trump or beg for mercy. Those are his choices. I hope the dude is part canary. |

He liked the "aura" of being an international diplomat. He paid $1 million dollars for the privilege. Now he could lose it all.

And then he changed his mind and donated $1 million. He seems to be primarily an opportunist.

29. boycott was called a month ago...
I believe the reason he changed his tune is because his wife feared losing money by boycott??
https://www.rawstory.com/2019/10/eu-ambassador-gordon-sondland-faces-pressure-from-his-wife-to-turn-on-trump/ Sondland’s wife Katherine Durant, a real estate investor and registered Democrat, fears her husband’s ties to Trump and the Ukraine scandal will hurt the hotel company he built.
One local company in Portland, Oregon, where the couple lives, has already cut ties with Provenance Hotels over Sondland’s role in the foreign scandal, and Democratic Rep. Earl Blumenauer has called for a boycott until the ambassador cooperates fully in the impeachment inquiry. This is the DU member formerly known as handmade34.

34. Despite what he does, my guess is his hotels will be up for sale real soon.
He has destroyed his brand. His best option is to sell the hotels while they are still valuable.
I read some in this thread claiming that we can't afford his hotels. What bullshit. Anyone who has booked multiple nights at a NYC, Boston, LA or San Fran top hotel can afford his shit. It is the MAGATS who would be stretched, they can send Trump $50 that they can't afford, but they are not going to fork over hundreds of dollars per night for a hotel room. A boycott will hurt his ass badly. His wife appears to be the smart one of the two, she likely realizes that it's time to sell their chain of hotels before their value plunge. |
