Democrat Jeff Van Drew (NJ-2) on Fox Business: Impeachment Investigation "fracturing the nation"

Democratic New Jersey Rep. Jeff Van Drew attacked his own party for the current impeachment investigation going on in the House of Representatives, during an interview on Sunday Morning Futures With Maria Bartiromo.

Van Drew, who was one of two Democrats to vote against the impeachment proceedings last month, remained critical of party leadership's decisions on the investigation into President Trump's discussions with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

"I just think we'll keep going down this road, keep spending more time. Many of us came to Congress because we really wanted to accomplish goals, really work on issues such as healthcare, work on issues dealing with prescription drugs, election security, the debt, the deficit — the list goes on," Van Drew explained.

He went on to point out that people should "understand the importance" of impeachment and added that no president has been impeached and convicted in the Senate.

The House has passed more than 400 bills to accomplish goals, work on issues, and get something done. Have you figured out, yet, what has happened to those bills the House has sent to the Senate? Is that the fault of House Democrats, too? You're sitting there in the midst of unprecedented lawlessness and all you can do is carp about minutiae.

Since they can't discuss the facts, let's pull the "its divisible to the country, " argument. I don't recall any such worries for the gop during Clinton's impeachment.

They have no rules. Obama should have told FU to Mitch McConnell - we are putting all the information we have about Trump's ties to Russia in the public media. In hindsight I bet he would now.

Until the rot is gone, it is a zero sum game.

They are blocking all progress in the Senate and are reversing all good things that have been done over the past couple of decades.

Of course, since he sits on Natural Resources and several Agricultural subcommittees, impeachment stuff shouldn't be getting in the way of any of his own committee work
