My parent's did not provide for me. They helped where they could, but their help was limited. I had to get out in the world on my own and figure things out. Along the way, a friend of mine took a chance and hired me at his company even though I had zero experience in the IT field nor did I even know what an ISP was. It was a crucible of fire but I found that I thrived under the call center pressure and I discovered I'm a decent problem solver. I'm over a decade in the IT industry now and I've gone along on my grit, guts and daring. But I'm always thankful to my friend to took a chance on me when nobody else would.

That's what a self made man is, both Barack Obama and I share that trait.

Unless someone really wanted it, I wouldn't wish the Presidency on my worst enemy because it's such a difficult job. And I don't particularly like the idea of dynasties. I'm just fantasizing a little on what a terrific President she would make.
