At the RNC the small notes of diversity and tolerance felt like odd tacked on extras that didn't fit. As if to say "minorities?... ummm yeah... sure we have those too... hay you over there, coloured guy, get up and speak so we don't look stupid". At the DNC it's just the natural backdrop of the party.
