Something like they are not just looking forward to walking again, but they want to run marathons.

Absolutely intentional. And a double tap - the GOP hardly mentioned troops or vets, and nobody would mention a "marathon" without knowing the currency of that word.

It was a masterful dig. She simply called attention to men with actual substance & character who are determined to overcome extreme physical odds to fulfill a goal that Lyan could only have fabricated for himself.

I guess that is why my life is comprised of dated photos and my desk is covered with little scraps of papers containing details/notes of things my brain can't retain or sort on its own

I was so sure I remembered something real.

I was watching the convention via TiVo and they JUST ran that clip of his speech.

Otherwise I'd not have known either. (I had to fast forward through most of Castro's speech...pick and choose for this working gal.)

that I tend to get them mixed up.

The line I think you are referring to I thought was delivered by one of the Governors (I think Castro), but I could be wrong. it was something like "this is not a sprint, this is not a marathon, it is a relay race." Referring, of course, to passing on the baton from generation to generation. But I think it was also a subtle dig at Ryan's debunked marathon claims.

I think it was his grandmother, maybe his mother, then he said where she held a broom handle, I can now how this microphone. It was pretty cool. Maybe I need to go back and watch the whole thing.

Was a great night.

Now my question is, did republicans feel like this about their 1st night?
