Hehe. This truth must drive him insane, he could be living in all his tacky nouveau riche glory acting like a predator and no-one giving a shit... instead he is a serious downward comparison to the first black president, any reputation he had has been destroyed beyond repair and when he leaves office he will undoubtedly face criminal prosecutions and will potentially spend years in jail...
SO MUCH WINNING.. Trump white supremacist nasty hubris be like...

(13,903 posts)Trump ran because he saw the Presidency as a new means to grift cash for his businesses
He saw the Presidency as a new high for his narcissistic personality.
I think he intends to not leave unless he is bodily removed.
Even then he will go on the speaking circuit and rant and rave.

That way he could pay off his debts to Russia and China.

(21,312 posts)to lose. He likes power and what is more powerful thsn being SCOTUS?
In 2013 he considered running for governor of NY as a stepping stone to the presidency. He was advised by NY politicians of the downside in costs and campaigning so he demanded being made the Republican candidate without a primary. He made that demand several times but even his supporters knew it would not fly in NY.
So he refused to run, with statements and posturing to create an image that such grubbing for office was beneath him and he was in control.
Then he set his sights on DC instead of Albany and found "connections" to get him there.
He might have been surprised that it worked as well as he hoped it would, but I believe that he definitely wanted to win. Why else did he look at NY first as a stepping stone?
I was relieved when he gave up on NY, but it was a deja vu nightmare for me when he went national.

It's no contest and as the avatar of the Dunning-Kruger effect, Trump, in his classics stupidity, obviated his intellectual and moral weakness.

(6,448 posts)Several problems arise though:
1) There is no such position. Putin already has picked his successor and they don't resemble an orange circus clown.
2) Putin is younger, healthier, and smarter.
3) Putin kills any competitors and still sleeps well at night.
4) Trump's overinflated ego makes him believe he can overcome #1 - 3.

He vomits insults like an insane Don Rickles and lacks compassion or empathy (remember the reporter incident?) and hates/despises women, LGBTQ+, and non-whites.
Don't get me started on the environment.
I've said it before: Trump is the biggest waste of a sperm and an egg that ever lived.

(15,232 posts)Trump would have been found dead in a ditch in 2015 if there was a deep state running things. This is the line I use every time I hear a Trumper claim Trump opposition is the deep state. It always unnerves them and they shut up.

(21,312 posts)at home and abroad. He is disgraced and his ego can't handle that. His debt is huge and not just in money. He is anxious and paranoid about losing control and power.
Greed and power certainly are drivers for the orange loser. But at heart, he really believes that his "stable genius superiority" comes from being white under the orange. That is genuine and not just posturing. I have no doubt that he felt eaten away inside with envy and hatred that a black American held the position of power that he craved. Someone smarter, with more finesse, who was well-liked enough to get re-elected. Obama smoothly won both terms. Trump has to fight to hold his first term and might not (will not, if I can help it) get a second one.
What an ego blow for a narcissistic racist.

(45,380 posts)that we need pain and punishment to teach us some sort of sick lesson. And we got it with Trump. A disgusting return to racism, sexism, bigotry, anti-immigrant policy, open corruption, foreign collusion, destruction of the environment, and more. Dude even hates dogs!
And apparently this is what it takes for Democrats to vote. Turnout was high on our side in 2018 and we had lots of new candidates. Should be epic in 2020. May the other side be filled with doubt, and our side strong with battle hardened confidence.
