(9,426 posts)him that, so he will not have to take another trip to Walter Reed Hospital? Once reality hits, he will explode. Orange crap everywhere. He never grew up, never faced the real world. Now it is closing in fast, and nobody wants him to know.

(3,363 posts)Overall, only 50% support it even after the hearings. We need 60% support for removal to get the Senate to convict.

(33,328 posts)There is no guaranteed result for any given polling number. Some Red Senators will vote against conviction even if a super majority of their constituents call them every day in support of conviction. Others will continue in lock-step with their party until the actual vote takes place. The Senate cannot act on Articles of Impeachment until the House submits them for trial.
Regardless of the outcome in the Senate, this impeachment is the right thing to do and is not yet done.

(14,734 posts)The dems and gop numbers have been stable for months. What is floating is "independents".
Individual polls can be greatly effected by what demographics the pollster chooses and actually manages to reach. As people have moved away from landlines, and have stopped answering calls they don't recognize, it's become very difficult to reach the people they are targeting.
The harder it is, the more expensive it is, so pollsters take shortcuts.
Old story, but very appropriate. Don't put too much stock in polls. But don't entirely ignore them either.

(10,178 posts)Its slow moving and Americans are used to instant gratification but I think the Dems are handling it pretty well. Its depressing that its had to come to this, but it would never have happened without the blue wave last election. Im still trying to keep the faith. Though I do think its quite possible Trump will claim some medical thing and bail out before he has to face the music.

In all seriousness: Lets do what we can with it. Like the guards at the end of Wizard of Oz, a lot of GOP minds may get reset (or freed) from their nuttery.
