Find out if you have been taken off your local voter rolls

If you have moved, had your mail forwarded - even temporarily - you may have been removed from voter rolls.

If you have the same name as a recently deceased person, or a recently incarcerated person, you may have been removed.

We had our mail forwarded to a temporary address while we had work done on our house - and I found out that I am not registered, by checking on canivote.org.

This non-partisan project was created by state election officials to assist voters.

We moved since the last time we voted. Got on the phone and had it taken care of.

My place to vote had changed, but it was a little disconcerting to find that just an inquiry would trigger a new card just a few weeks before the election.

She moved to a suburb of Chicago last October, registered to vote, received her voting card....and was not on the voters list!

Now she must reregister. Thank goodness she won't find this out when she tries to vote in November!
