Paul Ryan: Obama ‘Purged’ Mentions Of God In Dem Platform

Paul Ryan: Obama ‘Purged’ Mentions Of God In Dem Platform

Rep. Paul Ryan on Wednesday said President Obama's administration is responsible for striking all mentions of the word 'God' from the Democratic Party platform, according to Politico:

“It’s not in keeping with our founding documents, our founding vision," Ryan said on 'Fox and Friends.' "I’d guess you’d have to ask the Obama administration why they purged all this language from their platform. There sure is a lot of mention of government. I guess I would just put the onus and the burden on them to explain why they did all this, these purges of god.”

http://livewire.talkingpointsmemo.com/entry/paul-ryan-obama-purged-mentions-of-god-in

This is how pathetic Romney and Ryan have become.

Yes, Reince. It's disgraceful.

WOW. Disgraceful- “Exclusive: Democrats Drop "God" From Party Platform” http://t.co/BIhqBmBc
— @Reince via Twitter for iPhone

Disgraceful? Uh, let's go to Reince's source: David Brody of the Christian Broadcast Network.

Guess what? God’s name has been removed from the Democratic National Committee platform.

This is the paragraph that was in the 2008 platform:

“We need a government that stands up for the hopes, values, and interests of working people, and gives everyone willing to work hard the chance to make the most of their God-given potential.”

Now the words “God-given” have been removed. The paragraph has been restructured to say this:

“We gather to reclaim the basic bargain that built the largest middle class and the most prosperous nation on Earth – the simple principle that in America, hard work should pay off, responsibility should be rewarded, and each one of us should be able to go as far as our talent and drive take us.”

Okay, so "God-given" is not in the second paragraph and it is in the first. But that's not the only change. In fact, of the 33 words in the first paragraph, a total of 17—more than 50 percent—aren't in the second. Among them: government, people, hopes, and values.

Here's the full list of what "has been removed."

a ... chance ... everyone ... for ... gives ... God-given
government ... hopes ... interests ... make ... need ... people
stands ... their ... up ... values ... willing

So Democrats aren't just against God, government, people, hopes, and values. They are also against simple things, like the letter "a." And directions, like "up." They're clearly against possessions—otherwise they'd keep the word "their." Basically, Democrats are clearly against "everyone." As Reince Priebus said: disgraceful!

"There sure is a lot of mention of government."

A party political platform is not a sermon or a prayer. It's supposed to be about government. It would be alarming if there was no mention of government from people who propose to govern.

Ticked me off since religion should be taken out of politics, and the fact that God was mentioned several times yesterday.

Hell, we even had someone quoting the bible with the book of Matthew in regards to where the heart is in regards to their treasure. Where for Mitt Romney is his money off shore.

The deity that he worships, Ayn Rand, was a militant atheist who not only hated all religion (how else was she going to promote and elevate her doctrine of extreme selfishness?), but reserved special hatred for Christianity, and had many choice words for Jesus and his doctrine of selflessness, "idiot" being among the more printable.

Wait, here's something in Article VI: "No religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States."

Oh. Well, how about the Amendments? Nada.

Darn. How did we wind up with such a godless founding document.

Let's just say this.. there is ONE party that uses God like window decoration, evoking the name to browbeat and cheat and shame other people. there is ONE party that actually lives the principles and values that Jesus had, and they don't need to PANDER.
