GOP questions if Obama speech moved because of problems filling seats

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Republicans reacted to the news that President Obama’s acceptance speech at the Democratic National Committee on Thursday is being moved away from the large Bank of America stadium to a smaller indoor venue because of the weather by questioning whether it’s really because the Democrats are worried about attendance.

“Problems filling the seats?” Republican National Committee spokeswoman Kirsten Kukowski asked reporters in a Wednesday email.

Kukowski argued that “the Democrats continue to downgrade convention events due to lack of enthusiasm.”

but you see, that was the truth. Republicans don't lie. Now we're talking about Democrats, so of course they're lying.

I'm skeptical myself, but I understand why it needed to be done.

As usual, all the GOP has is a nasty smear campaign. God forbid they just shut up and show some class. Oh wait. They don't have any to show. That's OK. When President Obama blows the roof off the indoor arena, they can cry all the way home. The desperation is what drives them now. I can't blame them. I'd be desperate too right now.

Or maybe they'd just like to see them out there with a bunch of electrical equipment in the rain, and for that matter lightning.

10. Of course they're questioning it. They have to pick apart and create controversy any way they can.

The lack of enthusiasm meme is total bullshit - it was clear after watching last night, there is no enthusiasm problem among Democrats, in contrast to what we saw at the RNC convention.

GOP is jealous and throwing a tantrum.

Who moved Romney's speech to the Detroit Economics Club to the empty stadium? Why didn't you try again at the Raymond James stadium in Tampa? Capacity is 65,000, and FL is more populated than NC

as suggesting that the Democrats only *seem* more enthusiastic (i.e. sound louder) because they are in a smaller venue.

it will only serve to depress their turn out, because the repubs will think they've got it in the bag and not bother voting (since they don't like Rmoney anyway and they think they are winning).
