Trump: "Can we go to Supreme Court to stop?" (impeachment)

Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump

Just landed in the United Kingdom, heading to London for NATO meetings tomorrow. Prior to landing I read the Republicans Report on the Impeachment Hoax. Great job! Radical Left has NO CASE. Read the Transcripts. Shouldn’t even be allowed. Can we go to Supreme Court to stop?

It's obvious Trump has no familiarity with that Constitution he swore an oath to preserve, protect, and defend.

This is very relevant to the discussion of the importance of impeachment proceedings https://www.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.dcd.210013/gov.uscourts.dcd.210013.53.0_1.pdf

‘[A]n impeachment investigation involving the President of the United States’
is ‘a matter of the most critical moment to the Nation.’” In re Application of Comm. on
Judiciary, 2019 WL 5608827, at *3 (quoting In re Report & Recommendation of June 6,
1972 Grand Jury, 370 F. Supp. 1219, 1230 (D.D.C. 1974) (Sirica, C.J.))) (alteration in
original). Indeed, the fact that the issuance of a stay of McGahn’s testimony would
impede an investigation that a committee of Congress is undertaking as part of an
impeachment inquiry is yet another distinction between the instant circumstances and
those that existed when the D.C. Circuit stayed the district court order in Miers. And as
this Court noted above, the D.C. Circuit Miers panel also did not address any of the
four traditional stay factors, each of which weighs against the issuance of a stay under
the circumstances presented here for the reasons previously explained.

obstinately will not "read" a presentation with more than 3 bullet points or 1 paragraph, and doesn't want to listen when a staffer orally explains it to him. As usual he's lying through his teeth about "reading" a document of 100+ pages. He cannot even be bothered to read (or understand) our Constitution. But since he thinks he's "King" he can just overrule everything: Constitution, Congress, Courts, ALL. And goddamn complicit Republican Congresspeople/Courtiers are aiding and abetting him every step of the way.

Trump doesn't tweet policy or law, although sometimes his tweets relate to those areas. it's unclear if he actually understands anything about either one, but that's not the zone in which he operates anyway. i think he would consider such knowledge to be a waste of his precious personal resources. strange to say, given that he's a political leader for whom things like policy and law would normally be paramount. no, his area of expertise is image and everything he says should be interpreted through that lens first and foremost.

he tweets obviously stupid shit to engage his base.
Trump: "Can we go to the Supreme Court to stop?"
Trumpists think: no, probably not, but we need to stop the Democrats somehow.

see how that works? now he's got his base thinking about how much they hate Democrats, ensuring they'll be listening raptly to all their favorite media personalities to find out how to stop us. they'll do so thinking they're providing much-needed assistance to their beleaguered and unfairly maligned president who singlehandedly created the greatest economy evah but he can't do anything about impeachment so it's up to them to find a way. think of how sports fans get caught up in strategizing on behalf of their favorite team -- that's where he wants them, deep in his pocket thinking they're working for him.

it's not just insanity and ignorance. it's outreach to his loyal followers.

This is more accurate:

"Trump: "Can we go to the Supreme Court to stop?"
Trumpists flood social media with (because they're certainly not going to think): "yeah, take it to the Supreme Court!"
