It feels like a sea change to me, this election. What do you all think?

I know we need to GOTV and not be complacent at all. We need to fight hard, really for the rest of our lives. We can never grow complacent.

But I'm getting a sense of the country turning. The tide turning, and rather abruptly. A feeling of the fever having broken and the illness of right-wing hatred starting to recede.

I honestly think we will look back on this time as the election that was the turning point, the election that changed everything for the better and got us back on a good path.

2012 is the end of the world, as the Mayans predicted -for the GOP. They will be second-fiddle for a long time after this.

you saying that they will let us have a bit of movement to the left just to make sure we don't get the guillotines running? I could see that. Sometimes I almost think Romney is throwing the race on purpose, it's just hard to believe someone can really be that stupid and out of touch.

But I can't figure out why they would throw Paul Ryan into the mix.

He is their big intellectual leader! And then it turns out he is the world's biggest idiot, a compulsive liar and he hasn't even bothered to run the numbers on his amazing budget plans?

Why would they want to expose their whole charade?

And Romney, I understand throwing an election in the age old dog and pony show....but why would they put up the poster boy for everything that has gone wrong in the country.

Why would they put a candidate that exposes just how corrupt their policies have been, and proves that their need for greed and sense of entitlement has driven the country into the ground?

I use to think they were smart and this was some sort of plan. I certainly thought Karl Rove was smart but he hasn't been helping R/R...they have no real talking points or plan, just lies. ( Maybe Karl Rove is throwing them to the wolves?)

After this election season, I'm coming to the conclusion that they are just as stupid as they act. Or in other words, it isn't an act, they have just been using money and bullying tactics to get their way and avoid responsibility, and that just ain't going to work anymore.

And I DARE them to steal it again, that will be the straw that broke the camel's back because no one will believe that the nation voted for this entitled jackass, someone that makes Bush look intelligent and honorable (maybe that was what this is all about- preparing for Jeb?)

I believe the Rs overreached in a fatal way. It sounds corny but we always felt some respect for "the loyal opposition". But when Sen.McConnell just blatantly said he wanted Pres Obama to fail, and would do everything he could to assure that outcome, he crossed the line.

Opposition in the House to every single administration proposal further alienated Independents and many Rs as well. The approval rating for Congress being in the low teens can't all be Democrats voicing their disapproval.

at a time when the country was hurting. IMO, the general public has some tolerance for political games when things are running fairly smoothly, but when a crisis comes along, they expect politicians to step up and make politics a distant second to problem-solving. The Republicans have failed at that, spectacularly, and have made no secret of their priorities, either.
