6. It's insane, but not innocuous.

If Obama were retroactively impeached that would mean, in the Republicans' fevered imaginations, any actions taken by Obama would become illegitimate and retroactively null (like, say, the nominations of Sotomayor and Kagan to the Supreme Court, or all of Obamacare).

It's tiresome to keep pointing out that every crazy thing they say is crazy, but what else you gonna do?
