1. Jonathan Turley is a hypocritical turd.

2. Turley's reputation is trashed

The Dems stuck with the facts of Constitutional history.
The Repubs are driven by and echo their propaganda.

3. Republican Charlie Sykes on Chris Matthews right now

encouraging me.

Ds did not hurt themselves. Rs continue to display themselves as the toddlers they are.

Probably "didn't move the needle," at least in Congress. Maybe some persuadeables in the electorate. That's what Sykes was saying, essentially

4. Dems--and the USA had a good day.

5. Trump will be impeached. The facts are not in question. Trump's impeachable conduct is clear;

much of it admitted or on videotape. The dire consequences of ignoring his criminality and abuse of his office are predictable.

The Senate trial will be entirely about whether the Republicans give a damn about any of the above. I think not, but I'd love to be wrong.

Democrats chose three witnesses and allowed Republicans to choose one. Nadler opted for three experts on constitutional law—Noah Feldman of Harvard, Michael Gerhardt of the University of North Carolina, and Pamela Karlan of Stanford—who are esteemed in the legal community but whose views on Trump’s conduct are well known.

Gerhardt has worked for Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee, while Karlan is a favorite of liberals, who had hoped former President Barack Obama would nominate her to the Supreme Court in 2009. Feldman has been less ideological in his frequent writing as a columnist for Bloomberg News, although he’s previously come out for Trump’s impeachment.

The GOP’s lone witness was Jonathan Turley, a professor at George Washington University who represented House Republicans when they sued Obama for executive overreach.
