Median Household income is not keeping pace with GDP growth

This is perhaps the best simple summary of the collapse of the middle class. The amount of wealth being created by the American people isn't going to the American people. Not all of us, anyway.

Please note that in the second half of the 1990s, the median income starts to match the growth of GDP. Question 1: Who was setting federal fiscal policy from 1993-2000?

Also note that after a sharp decline in the early 21st C, from the mid 2010s income again began to catch up to overall GDP growth. Question 2: Who was setting federal fiscal policy from 2010-2015?

(sadly, I cannot put these questions on my Econ final)

of course this problem can only be fixed by a huge tax break to our heroic job creators
