(6,110 posts)I heard the women are beautiful and the food is delicious.
But I can't help Trump in anyway because I have no connection with him,
and do not want a connection with him.
Do American passport holders require a visa for Ukraine visit?

(6,110 posts)Overall it is less money for the visa than visiting my country of birth!

The food, culture, history and architecture all rivals that of France and Italy. Im not joking when there are dozens of centuries old churches there that are just as architecturally impressive as the Sistine Chapel in their own right.
Kyiv is this incredible enchanting medieval city with all these gold domed churches left and right.
I also went to Lviv in western Ukraine which has a heavy Central European feel to it.
And I saw the Carpathian Mountains which are beautiful.
Sadly I did not see the Eastern part of the country for rather obvious reasons.
But the people I encountered were all very friendly and hospitable people. One thing I noticed: They loved to walk. Every evening you just saw flocks of people and families on the city streets, just strolling along into the night.
If youre interested in guided tours, heres a link to one company that provides them:

One more great thing about Ukraine: Most everything there costs about 1/3 to 1/4 of what it costs over here.
You can get a full service, sit down meal with food and drink for about $6-$8 USD. A large craft beer on draft costs about $1.50. Its absolutely phenomenal in terms of value.

(6,110 posts)I have traveled to dozens of countries but not any in the former USSR except a day spent in what was Czechoslovakia, and got a tour of the famous village of Lidice. In those days US $ was king, and even Paris & London were cheap for Americans. In London I stayed in a high class hotel across from Hyde Park, and it was $25/night! Currently about $166/night. In Paris, a 3 night club tour including the famous Lido was also only about $25 if I remember. We saw a show in each club along with a glass of wine included! The tour company picked me up at my hotel and dropped me back there at end of tour which was around 1 or 2 am, if I recall correctly.
